This weekend, I decided to go watch two movies. My son and Vinny, last weekend, went and watched Backrooms. Okay.
And they're like, you have to watch it. You have to do this. You have to do this. So I go watch it. I watch it on Saturdays. Saturday. And then on Sunday, last night, we went and watched Obsession. Okay. Which, by the way, both YouTubers for Backrooms, the guy's name is Cain Parsons, who is 20 years old. When the movie was done, the director of the movie, he posted a video. We talked about this last week. Got 79 million views. If you go on YouTube, Rob, type in Backrooms and search for filter popularity, you will see this video alone as 79 million views. When he first came up with it, it was at 7.9 million views. Now it's at, I'm sorry, 83 million views today. That clip that he made. Main pixels, okay? So this leads to a movie that he does. 10 million dollars they raised. I believe that 10 million made 150 million dollars. Then you have Curry Barker, 26 years old, Vinny, at any time, correct me. 26 years old, who decides to do this movie Obsession, which is a girl that gets obsessed because this one thing that you crack and make a wish, and he says, I wish she loved me.
More than anything in the world. And by the way, when it happens within a second, it's the scene, he's in the car, he breaks it. What's the girl's name in the movie? What was her name? Anna? I don't know what the girl's name was in the movie.

Her real name is Indy Navarrete.

Indy Navarrete, which by the way, she made the flipping movie. You ready for this? $750,000 is how much it costs to do the movie.
The movie has made $150 million. 200X rate of return. By the way, if anybody knows Indy Navarrete, Vinny kind of likes her. Okay?

$750,000 makes $150 million. And by the way, Mandalorian came out a couple of weeks ago.
Mandalorian, the budget, everything marketing was $300 million. It's made $240 million, which means it's lost already $60 million on the $300 million investment. So what's the story here? YouTubers, independent creators, are making movies after making a name for themselves on YouTube, and it's translating. Vinny, a couple of things on the movies that we can get through.

Indy Navarrete, she used to be a call of duty streamer. I know Alberto would love that. First movie in 40 years to make more money in its third weekend than its first two weekends. That it's amazing. Pat, it's just, I love the fact that Hollywood, like I don't want to call it Hollywood, but like the independent, the horror movies are back. You don't need to spend, like you said, $300 million dollars with advertising and CGI and this and that. If the writing is good and there's a following and you're actually getting scared, it's so freaking worth it. And it's like, actually, like Pat, look at how great the movie is. You have a beautiful girl, beautiful girl that keeps that audience like, oh my God, look how gorgeous she is. They don't show anything crazy, but they're revealing that.
