This sounds like hopium to a lot of people. But I actually believe that Byrum Brown could play himself into the Heisman conversation should Auburn be 6 and 2 by the end of October.

Yeah, that's not even a crazy take.
If Diego Pavia made it to New York with his numbers last year and go back and look at him. If Auburn is in a conversation for being 10 and 2 by the end of the season, Byrum Brown is going to be in New York.

It seems as if one score games end with him holding the football getting sacked.

Tell me who those three losses are against. I'll tell you that that's enough reason for the committee to say they're not ready for the playoff. If the three losses are against, if they get big wins, then that means that they've lost games that they shouldn't have. That's enough reason for the committee not to get you.

Like how will they weight the big wins? Like let's say you beat Georgia and Alabama, but you lost to LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Okay. All right. I mean, that's still losing to Georgia. I'm sorry, losing to Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee would mean one in three in October while you cleaned the months of September and November.

Yeah. I think the problem that Auburn would have in a nine in three scenario is where they're starting the season. If they started the season in the top 25 and they were nine in three by the end with that record, then you would probably be in a good place.

Somebody's got Auburn ranked 24 in the preseason.

Not in the polls that matter. OK, so the problem that you would have in that scenario is that Tennessee and LSU are too early in the season because by the time they have the first college football playoff ranking that would come out, Auburn would not be in the top 25 having two losses that early in the season. They got Ole Miss probably, like, there's too many of those losses are early in the season. A good Georgia win maybe gets you into a decent place, but I just don't see it happening.
