Alexander Zverev is a Grand Slam champion, Jack. Did you ever think we would say that?

Truthfully, no, I didn't think so. For a long time, I always thought, and understandably so, that he either wasn't good enough, there was better players, there has been better players for the entirety of his career, and a lot of the time he's lost to them. And understandably so, didn't think he quite had the bottle for it. He had a few opportunities, and I thought after they slipped, it would never happen.
And I'm sure like everybody else, if he hadn't won today, I don't think he ever would have won.

But yeah, he had to take advantage of this moment in history. I've also got in the title about it being the craziest slam in living memory. I think we'll address that at the end of the show.
But yeah, with the title of him winning it, and the whole slam kind of changed in, you could say 15, 20 minutes, a couple of Fridays ago, when sinner starts cramping, was it Thursday? It was a Thursday, actually. You could add Djokovic, 24 hours later, going out as well, and then Caspar Rood and so on. But the domino effect certainly began, I think, with Yannick's cramping and eventual loss to Juan Manuel Sarandolo. From that moment onwards, I then looked around and I thought, I think we're getting a Cobolli-Zverev final. I did see that from that, pretty, I'm serious from that moment, because I had Cobolli in the semis.

Yeah, yeah.

**John Silk** (4:11)
I had Cobolli in the semis, because his draw was nice, and he's playing good tennis, probably the best of his career. And it was a good draw.

**Jack** (4:19)
I think it was you I spoke to about that, John. I think it was yourself that I was saying, whoever wins from Tien and Cobolli is probably going to the final.

**John Silk** (4:27)
Right, okay.

And then Zverev was the obvious pick from the other side. Although I think maybe Novak was stolen at that point, and I thought Novak would have got there over Zverev. But yeah, I picked exactly the same thing. I think Cobolli was the obvious pick. He was just hitting the ball so well. He has been going into the tournament, and he's definitely on the up. It feels that way, and it doesn't really feel undeserved that he got to the final. He took a little bit of advantage of Senna not being there, but I think we would have seen, as you say, Senna, Cobolli and the semis either way. And they would have beaten the end of the day if it would have been anybody else that did get knocked out. It's not like his draw opened up necessarily.
