Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's Tuesday, October 6th, 2026 I'm Patrick Daugherty, joined as always by Denny Carter, joined as always by Monday Night Football Fallout. The Atlanta Falcons are a wagon. Denny Carter, 45 points against the New Orleans Saints, 80 points in two games with Michael Pennex Jr., a starter compared to 16 in the two games he did not start. We'll assess the fallout from that game, including what to do with the problem like Kyle Pitts.

If Tyler Shuck has been horrifically exposed, Denny Carter, then we'll get into some news. Problems afoot in the Eagles backfield. Saquon may be out. Tank Bigsby definitely out. How much are we bidding on Will Shipley? We were going to talk about Joe Mixon. He didn't actually sign. We'll talk about what's going on with Jeremiyah Love, how the Chiefs injury disaster at wide receiver affects Patrick Mahomes, that and more. And then we'll preview Thursday Night Football, the Bucs to the Cowboys, not a high wattage game, but a lot of high wattage players, all that and more, when we come right back after this.

Denny, we're back now. And we're back to with a little of something different to begin the show, because I don't know how many shows we're going to have left, because it sounds like we're going to get replaced by AI agents. Yeah, AI agents.

You know, they're all the rage now. And apparently, when they're not busy hacking the Australian government, they are now setting Fantasy Football lineups for people. This has been a trend. It was apparently mentioned on the New York Times podcast, The Daily. They had an agent setting lineups. I've seen tweets to this effect and been saying like, sorry, you don't get it, bro, but this is actually the better return on investment. Yeah. I feel like maybe missing the entire point, higher several points of Fantasy Football. But I don't know, you surprised me a lot with your contrarian takes. Are you going to have AI agents? I'm soon setting your lineups, Denny.

Denny Carter (2:11)

Well, for a while, I was afraid of AI just replacing me. But then I saw some sites that will go unnamed here that toyed with AI as football analysis. Boy, I felt pretty good about my standing as a human being analyzing the game, even though I don't watch the games. But yeah, I mean, it's just not there.

In the New York Times podcast that you mentioned, producer Adam told us that the machine told the reporter you should play Patrick Mahomes over Trevor Lawrence this week. I don't know which week it was, but sometime this season, because Mahomes had won a Super Bowl and Lawrence had not.

Patrick Daugherty (2:54)

I don't see the problem with that actually.

Denny Carter (2:56)

That sounds good. So what you have is an AI agent that's basically, I don't know, like Mike Ditka or something, giving you Fantasy Football advice.

Patrick Daugherty (3:06)

What of that was the fate of Fantasy Football AI? Whether it was too un-woke and it was like they need to run the ball. I would build my team around robust running, like stop, like input, like command, stop it.

Denny Carter (3:20)

Yes, be more progressive with your views of football.

Patrick Daugherty (3:24)

You're absolutely right that that was a bad suggestion, to suggest eight straight running backs to start the draft because running backs score the most points. We'll fix that though going forward.

You're absolutely right. You're right, that's my bad that Peyton Manning doesn't play anymore.

Denny Carter (3:40)

Oops, my mistake.

Patrick Daugherty (3:42)

My mistake that Franco Harris never even was active during the time of Fantasy Football.

Denny Carter (3:47)

Right. I mean, yeah, they told me to blow my whole fab budget on Joe Mixon and, you know, he's not even going to sign, so.

Patrick Daugherty (3:54)

New Seahawks running back Joe Mixon or not.

Denny Carter (3:57)

It's wild. But yeah, I mean, just back to like the root of this issue. Here's the thing, if you're going to have the machine play Fantasy Football for you, my suggestion would be don't play Fantasy Football.

Patrick Daugherty (4:09)

It's totally missing the point of the activity. A comparison I've made for years is that Fantasy Football is kind of the new bowling. It's kind of an imperfect replacement for bowling, to be frank, because bowling night, you would get together with your friends and bowl and actually hang out in person and drink beer. Obviously, there's all kinds of socio trends where we don't hang out enough, blah, blah, blah. It's all very true.

But fancy football is kind of, I would say, the current equivalent of bowling night, where it's like a low stakes, honestly, low commitment activity that you can do and have a bond with your friends and have some fun. The point is not having the agent set your line up, what you do with your friends and your enemies too. I can't forget to shout out the enemies.
