What do you want, Mr. Hagen?

SPEAKER_2 (0:02)

I want my life back.

SPEAKER_1 (0:06)

On October 23rd, the procedure is causing troubling physical changes.

SPEAKER_3 (0:10)

What's happening to me?

SPEAKER_4 (0:12)

Look, fear.

SPEAKER_1 (0:13)

You have to learn to control it.

SPEAKER_5 (0:15)

In the face.

SPEAKER_1 (0:16)

I have no idea who you are anymore. Tell me who you want me to be.

Cray face. Only fears. October 23rd, we did all.

SPEAKER_6 (0:28)

Anthropic reached $16.8 billion in revenue for the recent financial quarter. I mean, that is a 45% increase and they are actually reporting adjusted profitability.

SPEAKER_4 (0:39)

Yeah, you really have to look at the year prior to understand exactly how stark that contrast is. I mean, they brought in just $4.6 billion total for the entire year before that, but they lost over $8 billion on an operating basis.

SPEAKER_6 (0:51)

So, you go from digging an $8 billion hole to claiming adjusted profitability while quadrupling your revenue.

SPEAKER_4 (0:57)

Right. And the fundamental mechanics of your balance sheet are shifting in a way that basically forces everyone paying attention to reevaluate the sector.

SPEAKER_6 (1:05)

We are observing a money-burning operation seemingly transform into a profitable enterprise. That sets up the central tension for anyone trying to understand the current technological economy.

You have to look at these figures and consider the underlying reality of the transition.

SPEAKER_4 (1:20)

Well, the public markets are being forced into a decision they have successfully avoided for several years now. You cannot simply ignore $16.8 billion materializing in a single quarter.

SPEAKER_6 (1:29)

No, you have to price it.

SPEAKER_4 (1:31)

Exactly. And the way you price it depends entirely on whether you believe the structural economics of the operation are sound, or if this is merely the peak of an extraordinary capital cycle.

SPEAKER_6 (1:41)

Right. Will the public markets price artificial intelligence as a sustainable business with predictable margins, or does it remain an incredibly expensive bet on a future that has not arrived yet? You have to keep that specific question in mind as we evaluate the metrics today.

SPEAKER_4 (1:57)

Because the answer to that determines the multiple you apply to the revenue. I mean, if it is a sustainable software utility, it receives a standard multiple.

SPEAKER_6 (2:05)

But if it is a binary bet on controlling the future of computing, it receives a multiple based entirely on projected market dominance.

SPEAKER_4 (2:12)

Right. And the specific trajectory leading to that $16.8 billion figure is steep. I mean, they trace the climb during a presentation at their San Francisco headquarters.

SPEAKER_4 (2:28)

They went from $4.7 billion up to $11.6 billion, and now they are sitting at $16.8 billion.

SPEAKER_6 (2:37)

Seeing a company jump 45 percent quarter over quarter at that absolute size, breaks traditional corporate growth models.

SPEAKER_4 (2:45)

The law of large numbers dictates that as your revenue base expands, your growth rate naturally decelerates. It becomes mathematically harder to double a $10 billion run rate than a $10 million run rate.

SPEAKER_6 (2:57)

You expect a 45 percent jump when a startup is finding its initial product market fit.

SPEAKER_4 (3:03)

Exactly. But seeing this velocity in the tens of billions requires a completely different mechanism of scale.

SPEAKER_6 (3:10)

The closest historical analog is the early Internet infrastructure buildout. You had telecommunications companies laying thousands of miles of fiber optic cable.

SPEAKER_4 (3:19)

And building the first massive server farms, right?

SPEAKER_6 (3:22)

Yeah. The capital influx was enormous, and the revenue spikes from initial adoption were huge. But that growth curve took a decade to produce these kinds of quarterly numbers.

SPEAKER_4 (3:33)

Right. Whereas we are seeing the adoption of these new computational models compress that timeline into a few quarters.

SPEAKER_6 (3:40)

The velocity is undeniable.

SPEAKER_4 (3:41)

It is. But you have to look at the composition of that revenue, though. That 45% spike could represent organic, durable user adoption.

SPEAKER_6 (3:50)

Which happens when everyday consumers and large enterprises deeply integrate these models into their core daily workflows.

SPEAKER_4 (3:57)

Right. Or it could be a temporary spike in enterprise experimentation. I mean, a Fortune 500 company might authorize a massive pilot budget to test what these models can do for their internal logistics routing.

SPEAKER_6 (4:09)

Or their customer service pipelines.

SPEAKER_4 (4:11)

Yeah.

They run massive batch processes to see if the technology works, which spikes the revenue for the provider. But once that pilot phase ends, they have to decide whether to actually commit to a long-term strategy.
