What's going on, everybody? Welcome to the Go Get Em podcast where we talk Yankee baseball as the Yankees coming off a three game sweep. Hold on. A three game sweep. Yes, I'm in my Epcot shirt. A three, I'm uncomfortable with the camera angle right now. A three game sweep of the Colorado Rockies, which isn't anything to brag about. It's what they needed to do. Needed to do it. We saw Judge enter the series. We saw Anthony Volpe enter the series today. We got to get to that. And they have now got back to within three games in the loss column of the Tampa Bay Rays, who went to Houston, Atlanta rather, excuse me, went to Atlanta and took two out of three and continue winning. And I talked about it today on the show with Craig. Today was such an important game. This game tonight was a huge game. And what's up, everybody? Thanks for hanging with me. I know we're going up against an NFL game that's pretty much over. How about those Rams?

Oh, the Rams are gonna be, oh, can't beat the Rams. Those Rams are so good. I love it.

But thank you for hanging with us here on a very big, because this is a big game and I said it today. I honestly felt, and I don't use the term must win, and I might have said it on the show. Obviously, it's not a must-must win, but it was as close to a must win as you could have if you had any hopes of chasing down the Rays. Like you had to go into this series, like the bare minimum of this series, just as far as the Yankees playing, they had to sweep the Colorado Rockies. Like forget, even just forget the division for a second. They're the Colorado Rockies. You're trying to get into playoff mode. You are trying to catch the division. You're trying to hold off the Boston Red Sox. You're trying to secure at least three games at home in the wild card. And you're just trying to be a freaking good baseball team. So you had to sweep the Colorado Rockies. As far as catching the division, bare minimum, you had to pick up a game. Like, you could not have allowed three days to click off the calendar, the raise to go into Atlanta against the Atlanta Braves, the first place Atlanta Braves, while you're at home playing the Colorado Rockies and come out the same way you went in. You had to be at least a game better. You were hoping that Atlanta could take two of three and make you two games better. But going into tonight specifically, and again, not a must win, because they do have four games left, and if they win all four of those games, that would dramatically change everything. But if you wanted to really have a legitimate chance to catch the Tampa Bay Rays for this division, you couldn't lose tonight and come out of a series where they were in it, come out of a three days set and three games off the calendar, where they were in Atlanta on the road playing one of the best teams in baseball, and you were at home against quite literally the worst franchise in sports, arguably, you could not come out without gaining any ground. And they did, they gained the ground. They gained one game. You would have liked to make it two, but ultimately they did what they have to do. They'll turn their attention to the Mets. We'll get into that here on the podcast. We'll go through these games. We'll give you a shill or shame for the series. And we'll talk about everything New York Yankees, but a lot to get to. And really the games, there's moments in the games, but there's more talking points of the games than there is going through every single big hit. The Yankees who don't have a grand slam all season long hit grand slams in back to back nights in the series. The offense today, you know, kind of gets it going early with the two-run homerun from Garcia, but really the feeling of this series was, you know, get some offense early on and then kind of break it open later. That's what they did in game one. They score a couple runs in games three and game four.
