Yager Meister knows that there's people who watch the game and people who know the game. Knowers know rivalries aren't heated. They're ice cold.

They know rankings change. Traditions don't. And they know that when you drink Yager Meister on game day, you drink it ice cold. Otherwise you just don't know the game.

So drink it ice cold. Or don't drink it at all. Yager Meister. Damn, that's cold. Drink responsibly. Yager Meister liqueur, 35% alcohol by volume. Reported by Mass Yager Meister US., White Plains, New York.

First question. These are all labor cup and team event centric questions. As we just got back from the labor cup, Alexis from Instagram had this question about the role personal coaches play during the team events.

How involved are your personal coaches in team tennis? Do they travel with you to the event?

Andy Roddick (1:51)

It was hit or miss during Davis Cup. At first it was like, let's keep it to the team. And then I think as it went on, the personal coaches were more integrated if they wanted to be. Personally, as a player who traveled all the time, you have to think about when to space your weeks off for your coaches too.

So we have plenty of people that are on a Davis Cup squad who can get racket strong and organize practice times. And there's an entire infrastructure. And so it takes a lot of the job of a coach outside of the training and ideating about strategy off the table. So I don't know that Larry Stofanke came to any Davis Cup matches, maybe a final or something. But I kind of valued his presence less those weeks than I would have on a normal tour week where he had to kind of take on a whole bunch of other stuff.

Training team Dougie Spreen was the trainer for the Davis Cup team as well as my trainer. So he was there, but in the capacity of working for the entire team. For Labor Cup, I would imagine, I didn't see any personal coaches there. I would imagine that they would probably take that week off just because there's not a lot of time for weeks off in the calendar. So I don't know, I'm assuming the contact is different between players. I'm assuming some are talking to their coaches every day. I assume a young player like a TN or a Hodar is probably getting feedback from a familiar source as well as the others. I'm guessing, actually I think I saw Alcara as his coach there. Anyway.

SPEAKER_4 (3:27)

I think he was there.

Andy Roddick (3:28)

But it's probably less important during the team weeks than it is during the normal weeks. And you're a phone call away.

If we can watch the matches on our phone, the coaches can watch the matches on the phone. It's just easy. I can analyze matches from watching them on a feed or on a channel or on something else just as easily as being there. I think all the stuff in the orbit of the circus that surrounds it with organization and infrastructure is important, but less important probably during the team weeks.

SPEAKER_4 (3:56)

A follow up to that was from Oliver emailed us asking, can you talk about the dynamic of having your own personal coach for 90 plus percent of the year, and then having to work with a new coach for a singular week, did you ever use guidance you got from your team or from your captain and vice versa?
