Ike Jones (2:52)
How do y'all feel about Golesh saying, I'm used to having answers and it's eating at me?
Mike G (2:57)
Okay, so this was a comment from the bi-week Monday morning quarterback club thing that he did in Birmingham, Ceasar. Okay. So he went and he gave a speech and me and Brett Pritchard actually talked about this because Brett, I think was there and he had the quote. So if you have not seen that, if you want to know the exact quote, I believe it was last Tuesday's Auburn Express. Brett reads the quote exactly from Golesh about, or last Wednesday's, last Wednesday's Auburn Express. He raised the quote exactly, but it was something to the effect of, it's kind of frustrating because I'm used to having the answers offensively and they haven't been there.
It was tantamount to, guys, I don't know.
Ike Jones (3:51)
And that's the same sentiment that I got from Joel Gordon.
Mike G (3:54)
Joel Gordon, yeah.
Ike Jones (3:55)
He made the whole, you guys, if you guys have any answers, let me know, email me. And I was like, what? Like, what are we doing right now?
Mike G (4:05)
Bro said, we're going to do a fan mail bag on offense.
Ike Jones (4:10)
So yeah, that has damaged my confidence in the coaching staff more than anything else. Then saying, I don't have, but again, I think what this goes back to is not so much about, I don't understand what I'm doing. It's, I made a bad decision months ago when I decided who I was going to put on the team. And they're like, yeah, I thought we built this roster better than this and we didn't. That's what that says to me.
Mike G (4:36)
Yeah. And why a statement like that kills hope is, to your point, that's off season work.
Ike Jones (4:42)
Correct. And there's nothing I can do about it today.
Mike G (4:44)
There's nothing in season that you can do that's going to fix that. Yeah.
Ike Jones (4:50)
It's not the NFL, as much as people want it to be the NFL, where I can go and make a mid-season trade and say, all right, cool, this isn't working. So I'm going to cut this guy off the roster. We're going to make this little da-da-da, and we're going to trade this person because what we really need is a pass rusher.
