Are Alex Golesh and Jon Sumrall friends? Well, one thing's for sure, Alex Golesh doesn't give up.

We'll turn it out. I'm here with my good friend, Kyle Rush from The Auburn Daily. Talk a little Auburn Football here on a Tuesday morning. Kyle, on today's show, we're gonna talk about Alex Golesh talking to us, the media, as he does every single Monday. Lots of great information. Little bit of social media circus coming out of this one. We're back into it on today's show.

Alex Golesh (3:02)

You knew it was coming.

SPEAKER_9 (3:03)

You knew it was coming.

Mike G (3:04)

Alex Golesh was, well, first of all, the reporter made a statement about the relationship between Golesh and Sumrall.

Golesh seemed a little shocked that Jon said that they were friends. Let's just play the clip and we'll talk about what he said.

Kyle Rush (3:43)

I mentioned competing against him at two land, but he also said he's just gotten to know you well as a coach and a friend over the years from competing against each other. What's your relationship like with Jon Sumrall?

Alex Golesh (3:54)

He said we were friends.

Not this week, we're not. I got a ton of respect for Jon. Jon certainly did a, we were both assistants in this league at the same time and he did a great job at Troy, high end job at Troy. Did a high end job at Tulane, got a ton of respect for how he works, a ton of respect for who he is. I think he does it the right way, competes like crazy. I got a lot of respect for him. This week, don't care.

Mike G (4:30)

Long hair, don't care, Kyle Rush. Let's talk about it. I love this energy. I love it. If he said we were friends, news to me, but we're not friends this week because we're not friends. Could there be a little bit of, this dude almost had the job I got?

I wanted to ask Golesh if this one was a little personal. I stay away from that question today.

Is this a little personal? Is it a little personal for Golesh?
