It was, I was upset. I was upset on our Sunday show.

But now that I've had time to kind of take it all in, I don't think the sky is falling just yet, but Auburn has a lot to prove versus Vanderbilt. I think it's going to start with Byrum Brown. In the first half of that game, I mean, you gave your thoughts on our Sunday show. Very disappointed in the defensive showing, but also acknowledging that Byrum Brown maybe has some areas of his game that he can improve. He doesn't seem to be running the ball as effectively as we thought he might be through three games. How do you get Byrum Brown going if you're Alex Golesh? Because from what I could see, and we weren't the only media members that noted it, he just seems to be holding on to the ball too long sometimes.

Ike Jones (2:59)

Yeah, I mean, getting him going is gonna start with, I think, some design quick throws.

And you saw that at some points, just like, hey, look, your first read is throw it here. If it's not there, your second read is here on a check down. If it's not there, get out of there. It's not gonna be anything elaborate, like we're doing a quick one, two, get out of there type situation and let him get into the flow of the game, I think, a little bit more by running a little bit more earlier. And then I think some design runs earlier in the game to get him going, I think, is important because right now, I agree with the assessment.

Don't miss Marvel Studios Avengers Endgame Encore. Early theaters Friday. Get tickets now. Rated PG-13. Maybe inappropriate for children under 13

Ike Jones (4:09)

He's got the ball in his hands way too long, way too often, which is counterintuitive when you feel like the offensive line's not protecting well. Well, they're giving him enough time to hold on to the ball longer than anybody else in the freaking conference. So he needs to do a better job of getting the ball out of his hands or getting out of there.
