ALERT: Florida Thinks It Can Handle Auburn. Really?! | Auburn Podcast
The Auburn Express
September 18, 2026
Auburn football versus Florida is finally here, and one of the biggest questions heading into this SEC matchup is whether the Gators are underestimating what Byrum Brown can do through the air. Florida may be able to slow Auburn's traditional running game.

Jägermeister knows that there's people who watch the game and people who know the game. Knowers know rivalries aren't heated. They're ice cold.
They know rankings change. Traditions don't. And they know that when you drink Jägermeister on game day, you drink it ice cold. Otherwise, you just don't know the game.
So drink it ice cold, or don't drink it at all. Jägermeister, damn that's cold. Drink responsibly. Jägermeister liqueur, 35% alcohol by volume. Imported by Mass Jägermeister US, White Plains, New York.

This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm. It's like thinking your crush messaged you back, but it's just your roommate asking for rent.
You wouldn't settle for a disappointing DM, so don't settle for just any insurance. When it comes to getting the help you need, State Farm is a real deal. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
SPEAKER_6 (1:38)

So, you know, it's going to be, it's going to be fun. I'm so happy that this game is back on the schedule, Ali.
You know, King and I have a million, like, Florida, Auburn stores. Obviously, you know, you had a husband who played in the game. You know, and it was, it was more prominent when we were in school in the early 2000s. But now to have this game back, I think means something to the history of what the SEC really is.
Ali Peak (3:24)
Yes, I agree. I, you know, I love, I don't love going to nine games in conference play. I just think it makes it that much tougher compared to everybody else. I think the SEC is the superior conference, but I love the idea that we get rivalries like this back. We're going to play two of every four years. And I think that's, that is a huge win.
Mike G (3:44)
I didn't, I meant to ask you this earlier, King. What do you think about the nine game SEC schedule? Is that like, is that, is it as brutal as it seems in our minds?
Ike Jones (3:54)
It's not as bad.
I think it's fine. I just, my issue, I don't like that they did away with divisions. Like, the division games, you know, being on the same side, like that was, to me, like, like Ali said, it's, there's certain teams, you know, you play every year.
Mike G (4:09)
Yeah.
Ike Jones (4:10)
So you go to the mindset, they already marked in the calendar. So I think that's my, the biggest thing I don't like. But as far as the nine games and all, the more, I mean, to me, the more SEC games are better, the better competition I could play, you know, the more the Mariners. So I don't think going nine is, is a problem. I just wish they would go back to the East and the West.
It made the strength of schedules for every team in the conference look ridiculous. No, adding a ninth game means nobody in the conference had a strength of schedule rated above 20 Georgia has the easiest schedule. It's the 20th hardest schedule in the country. What? Every single SEC team is 20 or harder.
