So that tells you how much we actually know about Southern Miss and their football program right now. But Dave, how are we doing tonight, man?

My bad, go ahead, say it again.

Mike G (3:31)

We have, in the Sunbelt, we have the Golden Eagles, which is Southern Miss, and we have the Eagles, which is Georgia Southern. So it could be confusing. But how can you not know Brett Favre type of deal?

B Wil (3:44)

Right?

Mike G (3:44)

We don't, yeah, that's right.

Ike Jones (3:46)

You know, Larry Fedora, right?

Mike G (3:48)

We know some big time coaches.

B Wil (3:52)

Yeah, definitely has a story program down there. New coach, he was the former, well, he's been there as offensive coordinator, right? Is the current coach at Southern Miss?

Mike G (4:03)

Yeah, yes, yes, he was there. They wanted him to take over before, but he didn't.

Ended up at Arkansas State. He followed the Hugh Freezes of the world. And let's see, who else did he follow? Some guy named Brian Harson. You guys ever hear of him?

B Wil (4:20)

I vaguely remember that name.

Mike G (4:22)

So he followed Ryan Harson and he was pretty good at Arkansas State. And unfortunately, his wife turned sick. I don't know if you, you guys may remember this. Her name was Wendy Anderson. And they went to Arkansas State, went to Georgia. And Georgia, the fans themselves had a pink out to support his wife. A road team in the SEC supporting the other coach's sick wife. Unfortunately, she passed away.

Arkansas State struggled. He went out to Utah State and one of his kids never got over it. And then he passed away. So, he's had a really tough decade or so.

And it's been done publicly. You know, it's one thing to do all that stuff privately. It's another thing to do it. And you're having weekly press conferences numerous times. So, he did pretty good at Utah State. And then some issues there. And then he found himself back at Southern Miss.
