ALERT: Auburn Football Offense Fails Again | Auburn Football Podcast

The Auburn Express

October 4, 2026

Auburn Football just let another winnable SEC game get away. The Tigers fell 24 to 14 against Tennessee in a game where Auburn’s defense did enough to give the offense an opportunity to win. Auburn actually outgained Tennessee 345 to 323, but those numbers do not tell the entire story.

College football is back, so Hilton called on me, the superstition concierge to make your fan rituals a reality. Need a room to match your lucky number? We got you. Want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey?

That smells lucky. Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition. Even a marching band wake up call at 555 and 55 seconds.

Hit it.

When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day, it matters where you stay. Hilton, for this day.

Jägermeister knows that there's people who watch the game and people who know the game. Knowers know rivalries aren't heated. They're ice cold.

They know rankings change. Traditions don't. And they know that when you drink Jägermeister on game day, you drink it ice cold. Otherwise you just don't know the game.

So drink it ice cold or don't drink it at all. Jägermeister, damn that's cold. Drink responsibly. Jägermeister liqueur, 35% alcohol by volume. Imported by Mass Jägermeister US, White Plains, New York.

The Tigers actually outgaining Tennessee 345 to 323, but they were under 200 yards of offense for a large portion of this game. Some of the stats are going to look a little skewed as Auburn kind of got going offensively over the last quarter and a half. The Byrum Brown kind of getting it going on the ground. He finished with 107 yards rushing. Two interceptions every Power 4 game. He's throwing at least one interception. The first one just sailed it. It was a bad interception.

His offense, I think the defense did, they weren't perfect, but they did enough to win this one.

SPEAKER_3 (3:45)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_7 (3:46)

Right. I think we can agree on that. Don't love them giving up 220 yards of offense to the Sean Bishop, but that was literally their whole offense. Brandon phase on Brandon left the game with negative yards. He left with negative nine yards generated. McIntyre came in and he had, he was eight for 10 for 86 yards. He didn't really do anything with his legs. But he got their offense going just enough.

This is, what do we say about this one?

You texted me before we went live, you said, it's, rooting for this team is exhausting. I think a lot of fans feel that way. This ended up not being a one score game, but it was a one score game for a large portion of the game. And when I went on Finebomb, you know, this week, he asked the question, he said, Auburn can't get this one. What game do they win before November?

SPEAKER_3 (4:47)

Yeah. I mean, look, you got seven games left.

Five of those reverse teams that are in the top 20 We'll see what happens in Mississippi State if they fall out after the beating they took the day. But I think the most disappointing part to me, Mike, is that I think we all had pretty realistic expectations. I don't think I saw anybody predict Auburn to go better than Aiden for.
