Welcome to How to Build an 8 Figure Agency. My name is Jordan Ross, and I'm your host. And over the course of this journey, we're going to be interviewing 8 Figure Agency owners and going through the systems that I've seen work and we've implemented into our clients' businesses that have helped our clients add a half a billion dollars in annual recurring revenue over the last handful of years. I myself have already hit the 8 figures in annual recurring revenue, and when I got there, I wasn't happy. I was stressed, I was dissatisfied, I didn't like the people I was working with. So I clicked the restart button and went from 12 million in annual portfolio revenue back down to the mid-seven figure level to a climb back again. And on this journey, I'm going to be documenting my process on how I'm getting bath date figures and bringing you expert industry leaders who will tell you everything they did to get there as well. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy the episode.
What is good, agency owners? It's been a minute since I've given you a one-to-one mind-vibing podcast, and I think it's really important I give you guys some updates from what I'm seeing in the world of AI operations and agencies.
Man, there is a lot of updates. There's a lot of shit changing, and I just would have never predicted in January, this landscape of agencies looks like what it does right now. But this is the world of AI. Shit is fast and unpredictable. If this is your first time listening to the pod, my name is Jordan Ross. I'm the founder of 8 Figure Agency. We have been working with agencies from a consulting level since 2019 We crossed the 1,000th agency service mark in 2024 Originally, we were an operations and management consulting firm. And in 2025, we're the world's first AI consulting and development firm for agencies. So we have a lot of experience in the world of servicing agencies on AI. So for those of my returning listeners, well, good to see you.
I wanted to give you guys like three particular updates. The first two are like, what's coming? Like, what is I guess all three of these updates are like, what can you start to expect on the landscape for agencies and what's going to change?
And I want to talk about this because I have a friend through Hampton. She's doing two million a year in EBITDA and profit. So she runs a really good business. And in, what month is that? May, she signed up to work with someone to build what's called a brain product. Basically a place to just ingest all of her information. And it's two months later and she still doesn't have anything. And she has a goal to sell her company for like 30 million, 30, 40 million. I don't remember the particular number. And observing this process, I've told her very candidly, you're making the wrong decision. I definitively know you're making the wrong decision. So my first update I want to talk to you about are these consultants and products on the market, what is currently available, what is going to be available in 2027 So when we started consulting, one of the things one of my engineers, my head of engineering was really adamant about is we need a place to ingest all of our clients' information. And what this basically allows an org to do is manage the context window. So if you don't know what context window is, whenever you're using any LLM, Claude, Gemini, Codex, it has this window where it could only hold the information that's within the window.
Anything that's out of the context window, like this area of information, it does not even consider. So the way you get hallucinations is because there's information outside the context window and an AI is trying to run a solution, it doesn't actually have the information, so it just guesses. So when we started doing this, we were building these things because it didn't really exist. And at the time, we thought it was a really good decision. And what I ultimately learned, building the brain of your company, like taking a month or two, I think it's so down. Now I know what I know, I would never recommend you do this. Because the leverage for your company is to have things that make things more efficient. So some examples.
If you are still in the camp of manually running reports, manually writing briefs, manually like checking things on project management, these are like big common ones where agencies that are not AI forward yet, that's where you should be starting when it comes to like the role of AI. You should be optimizing your operation to get things done more efficiently. And when those things happen, you could manage more accounts, you could manage more revenue. So here's the update of what's coming in 2027 In 2027, we were going to have potentially hundreds of brain products. There are going to be Silicon Valley softwares that are literally, their main way they're going to get you is they're going to say that they're the company brain for you. That's not going to be the only thing they do, but these companies that have millions or tens of millions or hundreds of millions, they're going to be funded and they're going to have a solution that allows you to just connect your CRM, your project management, your Slack, your Gmail, and then every agent that you run works off of that information, that brain.
