Hello, welcome to the Cloud Wars AI Minute. I'm your host, Dwayne Robinson, and this is going to go over the things that your boss actually expects you to know about what's going on in the AI industry. And the thing I'm gonna talk about today is the fact that we're now seeing over $700 billion in AI build out as far as the investment in CapEx that's starting to be spent.
Well, this is really an interesting situation because we're starting to see that the actual CapEx expenditures are exceeding the cash flow funding it at this point. So as we start seeing this happen, what I anticipate you're going to see is that maybe we'll start to see a little bit more of a trend where prices of infrastructure and this free for all and spending, hopefully, this starts to calm down. Because if we take a look at the actual numbers behind this, you're going to see that a lot of this was the fact that, just to give you an idea, Amazon is saying alone in 2026, they had to raise to $220 billion in CapEx expenditures due to memory cost as the cited reason. So now the question becomes, will the memory shortage start to push back a little bit in this because of the fact of where these numbers are going? We're now at $760 billion in CapEx expenditure. And this is going to be a real interesting situation as the industry has to kind of right size here. Because in Q3 in 2026 is when we expect that the hyperscaler CapEx is actually going to overtake the operating cash flow that's going to come in. Now, if that is the case, and if those numbers and those estimates are correct, then we have a big problem coming in front of us. How do we continue to fund these things where we don't actually see the cash flow being able to be a return? Now, currently right now we're sitting at $2.59 trillion, total worldwide AI spend, and this is up from in 2026 from 47%.
Now, that's fine that we have this, but there's still the fact that we have a CapEx expenditure that's starting to get to a point where it's catching this. And when we see that, there's going to be a right size within the investments and the way that organizations are having to go about being able to do these CapEx expenditures. We're either going to see them have to borrow money, or they're going to have to go into a situation where they tune it back a bit to be able to deal with the fact that it's starting to exceed their cash flow.
It'll be an interesting space, and it will be something that we'll continue to watch as we continue to go forward.
