AFC, NFC East Burning Questions: Projecting outcomes for Malik Willis, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels among others

Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's Thursday, July 9th, 2026 I'm Patrick Daugherty, joined by Denny Carter, Kyle Dvorchak. We are wrapping up our NFL Division's Burning Questions Series as contractually obligated for ending it in Eastern America. The AFC East, NFC East, the order may stun you. The NFC East is going second, the Cowboys are going last. They just aren't that interesting this year. Let's be honest, but we're interested in a lot of things, like can Malik Willis make any sort of run at QB1 value? If Dalton Kincaid can make any sort of run at weekly relevance after a few starts. Always very efficient, of course, feeding his family on efficiency, and what the Patriots passing offense might look like. If anyone on the Jets is going to be worth drafting behind Garrett Wilson, if Jalen Hurts is staring at a lame duck season, can Jayden Daniels bounce back from a disappointing 2025? All that and more when we come right back after this.
We are back, and again, we have burning questions, eight of them, maybe more like 11 or 12 We have a few burning sub-questions.

The burning won't stop until we answer them.

No, it will not. It will not at all. I have a burning question for you guys, though, unrelated to these divisions. Celebrities, can't live with them, can't live without them, love them or hate them.
Every once in a while in your life, you run in to celebrities.
Recently, when I was at the airport, I ran in to a football celebrity, Jeremy Macklin, University of Missouri legend, Philadelphia Eagles, great, Kansas City Chiefs, great, Missouri Sports Hall of Famer, I believe, someone I've loved my entire adult sports watching career for what he did for my Missouri Tigers. And I'll tell you what I did in a minute. My question for you guys is, when you see someone famous, do you say anything? Do you get a picture? Do you get an autograph? What is your reaction to seeing someone famous? I'll let you in on a little teaser for my minus fear and revulsion. I don't want to be seen as a weirdo or a loser. But Denny, what is your reaction when you see someone famous?

**Denny Carter** (2:18)
Yeah. I mean, we're at the Super Bowl every year now, and we see a lot of people who I want to take photos with or say hi to.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:28)
Well, I got to stop you immediately. The Super Bowl thing is totally different because we're there in a professional capacity.

**Denny Carter** (2:33)
Well, it's totally different. I saw Dan Reno in a non.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:38)
Right. I know.
You think NBC's going to tolerate you getting a selfie?

**Denny Carter** (2:43)
Yeah. I mean, I'm not saying like during the podcast, but during the show. But I saw Dan Reno, my childhood idol, at Harris Teeter at the Super Bowl, and I decided not to because I was embarrassed for being an adult. I don't know, man. It's just something about being an adult and just saying, I can't debase myself like that. And so I don't do that.
I would never ever ask for an autograph or a handshake or a selfie myself. I'm not judging those who do. I'm just saying I can't do that. I will say one time, my dad bought tickets to a Dolphins game in 1996 So Jimmy Johnson's, I believe, first season there as head coach. And part of the program was, part of the trip was, we got to go into the headquarters, Dolphins headquarters and walk around. Wow. And we're walking down the hallway and Jimmy Johnson is there alone, walking right at us.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:44)
Talk about just misery.

**Denny Carter** (3:46)
And my dad, I guess he was my age at the time and I was like 13 or 14 My dad stops him and goes, because Mr. Johnson, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Johnson shakes his hand and says, can my son have an autograph? And I had a little little sheet with other autographs on it. And so I guess I guess my dad didn't follow that advice, but it was a fun moment.

Now, the kid shield is one strategy.
I mean, I have this like, I just do not, I do not want to bother them. Like, you know, I was at the airport, long story short. So I was buying the lion for a while. Then when I was leaving the line, our bags are checked as we're walking away. I did turn around. I said to him, I really enjoyed watching you play.
