Welcome, welcome, welcome to Armchair Expert. Experts on Expert, I'm Dan Shepard, I'm joined by Lily Padman.
Monica Padman (0:05)
Hello.
Dax Shepard (0:06)
Our guest today is here for the fourth time.
Monica Padman (0:09)
Whew, he's almost in that five timers. Can we have our own five timers? You know SNL has that.
Dax Shepard (0:15)
Yeah, he's biting on the heels of-
Monica Padman (0:18)
Let's do six timers.
Dax Shepard (0:19)
Six timers. Do we have any six timers?
Monica Padman (0:21)
Is Sedaris?
Dax Shepard (0:23)
Kristen has to be a six timer.
Monica Padman (0:24)
Has to be.
Dax Shepard (0:25)
She has to be. Yeah, yeah, there's no way she not.
Monica Padman (0:26)
Okay, she's the only one.
Dax Shepard (0:28)
Yeah, that's cool.
Monica Padman (0:28)
All right, do you guys have something to look to? Sedaris has done six.
Dax Shepard (0:32)
Oh, six for Sedaris.
Monica Padman (0:34)
Six for Sedaris.
Dax Shepard (0:35)
We are so lucky. To get to talk to Sedaris six times, to get to talk to Adam Grant four times. Anyways, we're so lucky. Adam Grant is an organizational psychologist and a bestselling author.
His books are Hidden Potential, Think Again, Originals, and his new book out on October 13th, Vibe, The Secrets of Strong Connections in a Lonely World. This was so fun, you guys. We got to dance, dance, dance with Adam Grant.
Monica Padman (1:02)
We waltzed all night.
Dax Shepard (1:04)
We did, we did. We enjoy him so much. Please enjoy Adam Grant. We get support from Quince.
Monica Padman (1:11)
I have to say, I am so ready for fall. I want sweaters. I've been craving a true crisp morning where I actually need a jacket. I can't wait.
Dax Shepard (1:20)
I'm fully there. The second it dips below 70, I'm like, this is my season. Give me the layers, give me the boots, give me a reason to wear something other than a t-shirt. And honestly, that's why I love Quince, because fall is when your wardrobe actually has to show up. And everything at Quince is 50 to 80 percent less than similar brands. We're talking 100 percent Mongolian cashmere sweaters starting at $60.
Monica Padman (1:42)
$60. $60 for cashmere that you'd expect from a luxury brand without the luxury price tag. It's amazing. Gets me every time. It really shouldn't be real, but it is because they go straight to the factories, they skip the middlemen, and they just hand you the savings. The stuff isn't trendy, it's the kind of pieces you grab over and over because they work every time.
Dax Shepard (2:00)
The 100 percent Mongolian cashmere sweaters for me are it. When I look at Steve McQueen, this man owned a couple of sweaters he wore all the time, and he looks iconic.
Monica Padman (2:09)
It's a uniform, and Quince isn't just about the clothes. They have hotel quality bedding, cookware, bath essentials, thoughtfully designed furniture. You can really go there and outfit your entire apartment or house. So if you're in need of any kind of fall refresh at home too, same quality, same attention to detail for every corner of your life.

What do you think of this weather, Adam Grant?
Adam Grant (3:28)
I don't know what country I just arrived in.
Dax Shepard (3:30)
Yeah, I feel like the only time I've ever experienced heat like this was I was on a cruise with my family. And I don't know, 98
And we got off the cruise ship onto a tender to go to Bali. And when we got on that boat, I was like, oh no, I don't think my body can handle this level of heat and humidity all at once.
Adam Grant (3:50)
So painful. It feels like our oldest was born in North Carolina in June, and they led us out of the hospital at midnight. It was 100 degrees. Yeah. And you couldn't even breathe.
Dax Shepard (4:00)
Where in North Carolina?
Adam Grant (4:01)
In Chapel Hill.
