This episode is brought to you by Nationwide. Everyone knows that to win in fantasy, you need players that can be so much more. The QB that can throw for 400 yards and rush for a touchdown. The defense that can snag a pick six. Or the running back who can also bring in 15 receptions. It's like how Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company. They're one of America's largest financial services companies too.
Now that gets the start. For your insurance and financial needs, Nationwide is on your side. Nationwide Investment Services Corporation, member FINRA, Columbus, Ohio.

Welcome to The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz, and I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Horlbeck. And we are going over all the players you need to add after week three, after week four for the NFL season. We're going to get at all that. But first, the Giants have traded for nine. DK Giants have sent the fifth for not JJ. McCarthy, who I've always loved, never disparaged, constantly believed in.
Danny Kelly (2:32)
I can't remember a single negative thing you've said about him.
Danny Heifetz (2:35)
Not a one. And he's on the Giants now in exchange for a fifth round pick. And this is probably the best trade any team's made all year. Right, DK?
Danny Kelly (2:42)
I don't know about that, but I do think it is a relatively low risk, high upside type of deal. You know, we've seen teams turn draft bust players into starters in the recent years, like Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, you know, guys like that, where they just needed a new change of scenery and maybe like a new coach, maybe a new system, and things start to level out for them. Lower expectations, you know? So I think this is good for both sides.
Craig Horlbeck (3:07)
Boy, does it pay to be a friend of the Harbaugh's?
Danny Kelly (3:10)
I know, right?
Craig Horlbeck (3:11)
I feel like you play for those guys once and you're employed for at least five years.
Danny Heifetz (3:16)
You go 15-0 and win a national championship, then oh my God. Yeah, look, he's got a winning record at the NFL, too. I'll have you know. He's six and four as a starter. I'll have you know.
Craig Horlbeck (3:26)
It'll be entertaining. He's a perfect New York giant. This will be him and Cam Scatterbough.
SPEAKER_4 (3:30)
What does that mean?
Craig Horlbeck (3:31)
He's just he's a perfect New York giant. And you know what does that mean? You know what I mean?
Danny Heifetz (3:35)
What does that mean? What do you mean?
Craig Horlbeck (3:36)
What do you mean?
Danny Heifetz (3:37)
He's a perfect giant.
Craig Horlbeck (3:38)
There's going to be moments and flashes where you're going to be like, is JJ. McCarthy a thing? And 90 percent of the time it'll be a disaster, but it'll make the remainder of the season much more entertaining for Giants fans.
What's the point of this? Is the point like we want to keep momentum going and maybe JJ. McCarthy is good? I also read reports that they're bringing him in as a backup, like he's not going to compete with JMIS to start. Yeah, no.
Danny Heifetz (4:01)
I mean, he's a backup for sure.
Craig Horlbeck (4:02)
What's the point of this? Were you trading for a backup?
