Sadly, this is the theme song for former Michigan head coach Sean Moore. Caused him his job. In any event, 888-808-109.
What?
Chris McMonigle (0:13)
Continue.
Craig Carton (0:14)
What I have to say?
What, to cheatin bastards? Did you see the New England Patriots story, by the way? Patriots get their first win of the year, they beat the Steelers. And then after the game, two things happen. Well, Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers, who's insufferable, he decides to throw the coaching staff under the bus, and he was asked after the game.
Chris McMonigle (0:32)
He's the gift that keeps on givin.
Craig Carton (0:34)
What was wrong, like, offensively? And he came out at a press conference, and you think this is a chance for some veteran leadership. It all starts with me, I'm the captain of the team, I'm the quarterback, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Instead he said, I need to do a better job, pause.
Most of us are thinking, this is where you say, I had a bad game, that's on me.
Chris McMonigle (0:57)
Maybe, maybe moving, you need to do a better job moving. Maybe.
Craig Carton (1:01)
Yeah, sure, DK Metcalf needs to catch the ball.
SPEAKER_3 (1:04)
That's fair.
Craig Carton (1:05)
But he goes, I need to do a better job telling the coaches how bad their play calls are.
Chris McMonigle (1:13)
Pretty much. I mean, he goosed it up a little bit nicer than that.
SPEAKER_3 (1:17)
He's special, isn't he?
Chris McMonigle (1:18)
I need to do a better job of telling the coaches what's working on the field so we can get play calls that give us a chance to be successful. That is one of the all-time passive regrets.
SPEAKER_3 (1:29)
That's your guy.
Craig Carton (1:30)
You love that guy.
Chris McMonigle (1:31)
How could you not like that guy?
Craig Carton (1:33)
How could you not like that guy? That's great.
Chris McMonigle (1:35)
He stands there as a 40-year-old and he looked decrepit in the game. I watched a lot of that game. He was terrible in the game.
Craig Carton (1:42)
So was DK Metcalfe, too.
Chris McMonigle (1:43)
Yes, no doubt. The whole offense was. It wasn't just him. But he was terrible in the game. He wasn't like...
He got blindsided two or three times. That's on you, dude, a couple of those times. He was just awful in the game. He was meant to come out and passively aggressive, say, I need to do a better job of telling my coaching staff how to be good at their job. He is one of the all-time greats.
SPEAKER_3 (2:03)
He's one of one that guy right there.
Chris McMonigle (2:04)
He is one of one. I want that guy around forever.
Craig Carton (2:07)
Yeah. Mike McCarthy said after the game that he wanted Aaron Rodgers to be his quarterback, but only after he banged Tony Romo.
I was going with the Shailene Woodley story. That was obvious when I was going with that.
SPEAKER_3 (2:25)
Sorry.
Craig Carton (2:26)
Remember she said yes to the marriage proposal, but before we get married, I got to go bang a guy first?
SPEAKER_3 (2:33)
Yes.
Craig Carton (2:33)
I was trying to connect with you.
SPEAKER_3 (2:35)
I didn't do that well.
Chris McMonigle (2:35)
But you used a notable football name, so you got to be thinking Tony Romo.
Craig Carton (2:39)
I just tried to come with a quarterback that he got to have sex with. Sorry. My bad.
I just thought everyone got the joke. That's on me.
SPEAKER_3 (2:47)
Maybe everyone did.
I think I understood that. Everyone but me.
Chris McMonigle (2:50)
He didn't coach Tony Romo in Dallas.
Craig Carton (2:52)
Now you're going to tune the weeds on him. No. I was just saying, much like Shailen Woodley said, I'll marry you after I bang this other guy. Mike McCarthy said I'll coach you after I bang this other quarterback. Clearly if I need to explain it, it wasn't a good joke.
I'll take ownership of that.
Chris McMonigle (3:10)
Speaking about marrying.
Craig Carton (3:11)
Leave from the front.
Chris McMonigle (3:12)
Do we really need Taylor Swift to point to her ring after touchdowns?
Craig Carton (3:16)
No, we do not.
Chris McMonigle (3:17)
We do not.
Craig Carton (3:18)
Look at it. I got a million dollars on my finger. That's my husband right there.
SPEAKER_3 (3:21)
That's my husband.
Chris McMonigle (3:22)
He did have a good game.
Craig Carton (3:23)
She went from week one, get me off TV. I don't want to be on TV.
That's my husband right there. You can put a ring on it.
