This is VSiN, the SportsBetting Network.

Jensen Lewis (0:09)

The numbers told the story, they always do. Swandles idiots who believe in analytics.

Gill Alexander (0:13)

This is A Numbers Game with Gill Alexander on VSiN. Good Thursday morning to you. It is A Numbers Game at VSiN, the SportsBetting Network, vsin.com, GamePlus, iHeartRadio, YouTube TV, SiriusXM, Channel 189

I'm radio's Gill Alexander. That right there. Television's Kelley Bydlon.

Kelley Bydlon (0:30)

Hey, how are we this morning?

Gill Alexander (0:34)

The pointy fingers. Nice.

Kelley Bydlon (0:35)

You have to throw some finger guns at him sometimes.

Gill Alexander (0:40)

We got a good show today. Jensen Lewis is going to stand by here from by the books, which you just heard on the network. He's going to talk Major League Baseball with us, including today's doubleheader game four of the NLCS, which could be a closeout game. Oh, my God. And game three of the ALCS.

We could have a situation here where the ALCS lasts a week longer calendar wise in the NLCS that that that's an extreme. We shall see Seahawks Broncos tonight. Week six kicks off of the National Football League. Looking forward to that. Kelly's got some NBA win totals and of course, Zach and crack, as is the case each and every Thursday here on the show. Is that Cohen? See if he has any tennis left. I don't even know if there will be tennis left for today, maybe he's got some for tomorrow in either Wuhan or Shanghai on the men's side, Wuhan on the ladies side. And then on scripted with the crack man, Bill Crackenburger. Have you ever met Crack's wife before? She's going to be. I have not. He's going to be with him today.

Kelley Bydlon (1:35)

Really?

Gill Alexander (1:36)

Not on the show, but she will be here today.

Kelley Bydlon (1:38)

Just wanted to come and take in downtown early in the morning?

Gill Alexander (1:42)

No, because he's going to do Wisecracks, his podcast.

Kelley Bydlon (1:44)

Oh.

Gill Alexander (1:45)

Either before or after a day.

Jensen Lewis (1:47)

He does a Numbers Game.

Gill Alexander (1:48)

Yeah. So she's coming for both of them.

Kelley Bydlon (1:50)

I will be honest, I walked out here like every week for, I don't know, six weeks or something. I'm like, why does Bill do this on a Wednesday when he comes all the way down here on Thursday already?

Gill Alexander (1:59)

No, back to back, sir. Yeah.

Kelley Bydlon (2:02)

Tough sometimes.

Gill Alexander (2:03)

Tough sometimes.

Okay, let's start with last night's baseball game. Brewers, six. Dodgers, two. Brewers take a three to nothing lead in the best of seven NLCS. And again, as we have said and as everyone says, three nothing deficit only happened once in the history of baseball that team came back from a three to nothing deficit of best of seven to win the 2004 Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship Series, famously against the Yankees. But remember Kevin Millar, pressures on them. Dodgers have to have that attitude today for game four. Here's the dealio, though, in this game yesterday. First pitch of the ball game, Blake Snell, Jackson Churio says, yeah, I'll deposit that into the seats. And of course, Joe Davis called that with the enthusiasm of, I don't know, Kelley Bydlon when not watching Josh Allen. No enthusiasm whatsoever. He tried to feint it at the end. He's like, oh, that's gone on the first bit. But by the way, contrast that with with later window.

Will Smith has a two RBI shot to put the Dodgers ahead. It's just unbelievable difference. But anyway, one to nothing Brewers after the first pitch of the game. Robert Gassert would go five innings of no earned run baseball for the Brewers. Would not give up a run, three hits, three Ks, one walk.

And he did it sort of unorthodox for Gassert. He's a ground ball pitcher, but only two of his 15 outs in game three last night were ground balls compared to ten through the air, three via the strikeout. The bullpen had to pick up after that.

And Uribe, by the way, one of their most dominant arms of the past two years, he actually was set to be the Brewers old school goat, meaning the go to the game in a bad sense. Abner Uribe comes in from Milwaukee in the sixth, Teoscar walks, Tucker walks, two batters later, Shohei walks. Will Smith, the two RBI double that I was just talking about, two to one Dodgers. But then DL Hall came in, stranded Shohei and Smith in scoring position when he struck out Kike and Tommy Edmond to end the frame. And that, more than anything, sort of sums up the Dodgers offense in this series and really in this postseason. Los Angeles now three for 29, when this was all said and done last night, three for 29 with runners in scoring position this postseason. Oof. I'll do the math for you.
