Hello, and welcome to Smosh Reads Reddit Stories. I'm Shayne, and today's theme is Entitled. And I am joined by two of the most entitled people I know, Angela and Olivia.
**Olivia Sui** (0:11)
Do you want a matcha, or?
**Angela Giarratana** (0:13)
Can I get two drinks?
**Olivia Sui** (0:15)
Yeah.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:15)
Because I can't decide if I want to do a cold beverage, or?
**Olivia Sui** (0:18)
You want hot and cold?
**Angela Giarratana** (0:19)
Hot and cold, so I can fuck up my stomach.
**Olivia Sui** (0:21)
Yeah, yeah, let's do that here. What are you thinking?
**Angela Giarratana** (0:24)
Ooh, just steamed milk?
**Olivia Sui** (0:25)
Oh yeah, just a cup of, well, get that for him. A cup of steamed milk.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:28)
I think he probably wants a 16 ounce of steamed milk.
**Olivia Sui** (0:31)
No, but for real, do you want anything? We're going to place the order and maybe it comes in time for the end of the episode.
**Shayne Topp** (0:35)
I'll just get an espresso.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:37)
You want an espresso? You just make that here.
**Shayne Topp** (0:39)
I know, but they do a ristretto style.
**Olivia Sui** (0:43)
Whoa, you can add a shot of maple pancake.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:45)
Oh, or cranberry.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:48)
Or cupcake.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:50)
Wait, what the?
**SPEAKER_4** (0:50)
Apple.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:51)
What if we just added that into your-
**Olivia Sui** (0:53)
I'm adding that to the cart. What do you want? Seriously.
**Angela Giarratana** (0:55)
Okay, seriously, I-
**Olivia Sui** (0:57)
Is this a tad entitled?
**Shayne Topp** (0:59)
It's a tad entitled.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:00)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, a tad entitled.
**Shayne Topp** (1:02)
Actually, do they just do a straight up matcha? Like a hot matcha?
**Angela Giarratana** (1:05)
A hot matcha? I got you.
**Shayne Topp** (1:06)
Well, yeah.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:07)
Like a matcha Americano?
**Shayne Topp** (1:08)
Yeah. Can I get a matcha Americano, actually? Could you swap out to get rid of the person too?
**Angela Giarratana** (1:12)
Yeah, I got you.
**Shayne Topp** (1:13)
That'll give me energy throughout the day. Yeah.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:15)
A matcha hot Americano. You want some ice in it?
**Shayne Topp** (1:18)
I think I would just hot.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:20)
You just want hot? Just a hot. I'm going to give you organic ceremonial matcha.
**SPEAKER_5** (1:23)
You have to go quicker.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:24)
All right, all right. You don't want any milk, right? No milk?
**Shayne Topp** (1:27)
No milk.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:27)
Gosh, they don't have coconut milk?
**Shayne Topp** (1:29)
That's so bad. So we have some entitled stories today. We're ready.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:33)
We're so ready. Hey.
**Shayne Topp** (1:34)
How do you feel? Do entitled people piss you off?
**Angela Giarratana** (1:37)
Yes. Yes.
**Shayne Topp** (1:38)
We live in LA, which kind of the hub.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:41)
Yeah.
**Shayne Topp** (1:41)
I think entitlement's pretty pervasive. I think it's everywhere.
**Angela Giarratana** (1:46)
Yeah.
**Shayne Topp** (1:47)
I feel like everyone's always saying, oh, this generation's entitled, this generation's entitled. This country's entitled.
This state is entitled. I'm like, I think it's kind of all over the place.
**Olivia Sui** (1:56)
I think it's all ages, all cultures.
**Shayne Topp** (1:58)
Yeah.
**Olivia Sui** (1:58)
It's all over.
**Shayne Topp** (1:59)
I can't speak for the whole world, but I do think America, we're such an individualistic country, that it's kind of like pushed on us culturally.
**Angela Giarratana** (2:08)
When you guys experience entitlement amongst your friends, how do you guys react to that?
**Shayne Topp** (2:16)
That's tough. I think if it's someone I try to gently be like, well, you know, it's okay, maybe we should, everything's fine.
**Olivia Sui** (2:26)
I mean, devil's advocate here, I would say, you know, that's...
**Angela Giarratana** (2:29)
Yeah, yeah.
**Shayne Topp** (2:31)
I try to check myself a lot, especially in places where I think people are very entitled, like airports, restaurants and stuff. I try to be like, oh, I understand that. The waiter's going through a hard time, or the person behind the service desk, they're having a day, so I'm not thinking I'm deserving of it.
**Angela Giarratana** (2:51)
My friends who are visiting here from Europe, they were driving and they're like, wow, the fact that if I let someone go, they don't wave thank you or any of that. They're just shocked. They're like, in London, people are very polite or at least like gesture thank you, not entitled to rush, to get on the road or like.
**Olivia Sui** (3:15)
That is true. When I have my blinker on and I get through and they let me in, unless it's like a really tight spot, I go, thank you.
