How Long Gone. Beautiful Sunday here in New York, Jason. Fall is kind of falling a little bit, if I'm being honest with you.
Jason Stewart (0:27)
What's the air smelling like, brother man? What's the air smelling like in NYC?
Chris Black (0:30)
I mean, the air in this apartment smells great, but outside, I mean, it smells better than it does in August. I'll tell you that. But it's just, I just mean, there's a breeze. I wore a jacket to the gym this morning, and it felt, not to overstep, but necessary almost, I would say.
Jason Stewart (0:45)
Yeah, I actually wore, I had to wear a jacket this morning. It was a very kind of tissue thin windbreaker, but vintage Nike all weather gear type of windbreaker.
Actually, Condé Nast embroidery, it's a team jacket on the back of the kind of mock neck collar or whatever. But it was one of, you know how the windbreaker sometimes no pockets in the front, but just the assistant coach pouch in the lower back pocket, maybe, or the runner's pouch, you know what I mean?
Chris Black (1:15)
Where you put your important paperwork and stuff while the guys are running drills.
Jason Stewart (1:20)
Whatever, you know the three guys who go jogging with Bill Clinton in those old photos, they have to carry some of those important presidential documents in the back pouch. But I pull it out, what flavor am I going to hit them with today?
Then what's in the back pouch pocket? N95 mask, a relic from COVID past.
Chris Black (1:42)
I assume you put it in the closest public trash can or lit it on fire. Which one did you choose?
Jason Stewart (1:48)
I donated to our 7th responders, not the 1st. It has been some time.
Chris Black (1:53)
Was it a black one? Was it a high quality or was it kind of one of the shittier ones you would put on to really fake it?
Jason Stewart (1:59)
It was a black one, standard, out of the box, triple black. But I remember when we would get kind of artisanal, an eggplant colored mask.
Chris Black (2:10)
That is the most, that's one of the most, that's one of the most embarrassing thing. Yeah, like somebody's sending me a mask, and they're charging $125 on their website for it. And you have to, like, I'm like, dude, what is, this is so embarrassing.
Jason Stewart (2:22)
I mean, I was happy to get, you know, free, free pack is a free pack. You know what I mean? I'm still going to use it. You know, it's all good.
Chris Black (2:29)
They used to send you, they used to send you the like, wasn't there like the Korean homie who made like the Sherbert pack that was like 15 colors? Bro, get out of here with that shit.
Jason Stewart (2:38)
Yeah, we had the, we had salmon, we had eggplant, we had hunter green, but I mean, it was very much like, you know, during those times, you had the matching, whatever, your phabletic set or your aloe set or whatever, that would come in those colors. And we needed a piece of fabric that covers our nose. Just like when you're same color.
Chris Black (2:58)
Cause you had the fitted that match, you had the throwback, you had the socks, you had the ones, and then you need the mask to kind of top it off. That's cherry on top.
Jason Stewart (3:06)
Tar Heel blue, it's a certain color blue that it's not just any old regular, you know what I mean?
Chris Black (3:11)
Real talk, that is a certain shade.
Jason Stewart (3:13)
Damn, I can't believe you found that. Blue, that same shade, it's on the label of my David Vanilla Protein Milkshake that I'm slugging down right now.
They're the new Sherbert Mask in my life. It kind of tastes like, you know, when you get the ice cream, like the soft serve ice cream that's a little artificial, but in a way, where we're kind of rocking with it, you know what I mean? Or how the sugar in store-bought soy milk, when it's not sweet, but it still has a bunch of like corn syrup in there, it has that little bit of a naughty sting, it kind of tastes like a melted soft serve.
Chris Black (3:48)
Naughty, naughty sting.
Jason Stewart (3:49)
The naughty sting.
Chris Black (3:50)
We had some milk issues yesterday at the US Open, if I'm gonna keep an absolute buck with you.
Jason Stewart (3:55)
I had milk issues as well, I bought a fucking gallon of clover, it tasted like fucking, you know, some type of Ebola virus.
