How Long Gone is a beautiful Tuesday morning here in Los Angeles. The sun is shining, it's only going to touch 80 today. It was a little warmer yesterday in Malibu, yesterday afternoon, but we made it through. I met a horse named Freckles, and now we're here podcasting.
**Jason Stewart** (0:37)
You're in Malibu right now?
**Chris Black** (0:38)
No, I'm in West Hollywood. I was in Malibu yesterday shooting, and there was a, we were on a ranch, so I met a horse named Freckles, which I thought was a great name for a horse.
**Jason Stewart** (0:47)
Really good name for a horse. It's so cool. We really are sinking.
I'm currently in a horse area as well, in the middle of the-
**Chris Black** (0:57)
Horse area, horse area.
**Jason Stewart** (0:58)
I'm in a horse area of Ireland, a city called Abilé, I believe, at the Omos, O-M-O-S guest house. And what a dream. Got here a few hours ago, had the Volvo XC90 drive us in from Dublin through the beautiful countryside, dropped everything off, visited the culinary garden, visited the chef, whose name is spelled C-U-A-N, I believe. Is that Kuhn?
Kuhn?
**Chris Black** (1:32)
I'm not gonna attempt that because there's definitely, I think we're both wrong, no matter what we say, but it is-
**Jason Stewart** (1:39)
So I'll spell it.
**Chris Black** (1:40)
I've never seen that. Yeah, I think a spelling is the safest choice here, in this instance.
**Jason Stewart** (1:44)
Kuhn? Kuhn Green, anyway. He's a great guy. He showed us around the garden.
You know, we're hanging out, checking out the kabocha squashes and the fennel, fronds and this and that. Had a beautiful biscuit and a beautiful flapjack, which is sort of what Irish people call a Nature Valley Oats and Honey Bar.
**Chris Black** (2:07)
I've had a flapjack.
**Jason Stewart** (2:08)
More chewy.
**Chris Black** (2:08)
No, I've had many flapjacks. They're very popular in London at the off-license. I fucking love them. There's a certain brand I really like. I've talked a shot about it a lot and you can't find them anywhere in America. It's very strange.
**Jason Stewart** (2:19)
Oh, Chris Black, a known flapjack lover.
**Chris Black** (2:22)
There's a cranberry one I really like. There's several flavors from this one brand, but I have some sweet, some a little, all are a little sweet, but there's nothing too crazy. There's no chocolate that I've seen. It's mostly fruit-based.
**Jason Stewart** (2:35)
Yeah, mine was fruit-based. Yeah, it was a little butchery, not too sweet, not too savory, just a nice little right down the middle. But we did visit the oldest pub around called Morrissey. The Morrissey, it's an old, this is 250 years old. It's as old as Donald Trump's America.
**Chris Black** (2:54)
How'd it smell in there?
**Jason Stewart** (2:56)
Oh, it smelled ripe.
**Chris Black** (2:59)
Was there carpet?
**Jason Stewart** (3:00)
No carpet. It was all, every single bit of it was wood. The floor, the ceiling, the, you know.
**Chris Black** (3:07)
I mean, that does make sense.
**Jason Stewart** (3:08)
So it did smell old, but it was a very clean place. So it just kind of had that vintage warmth to it. And, you know, it was a beautiful smell, but just full of all those little knickknacks and things everywhere. And obviously the finest pint of Guinness that we were poured on this journey.
**Chris Black** (3:28)
I would hope. I mean, what's the point otherwise? Cause there you're, look, you're out here having pints and we've got a crisis in the podcasting world, you know? So it's like, I don't, I don't, you know.
**Jason Stewart** (3:38)
A crisis in the podcasting world?
**Chris Black** (3:39)
The movie podcast is under attack cause, cause the pod father Bill Simmons is doing ChatGPT ads. They're having to answer for it, you know, in real time. It's, it's, it's a crisis. And I need, I need you to be serious, Jason. This is no joke. If you, okay, if you want to talk about, you know, the Odyssey for four hours and a reader mailbag, and you can't even advertise ChatGPT, what's the point? You know what I mean? Like, what's the, what's the point, man? What's the point?
I've, I've been following this story closely, and I'm, I'm confused that there seems to be like, he calls it chat EBT because it's, it's Roger Ebert.
**Jason Stewart** (4:16)
Yeah, I guess.
**Chris Black** (4:17)
I'm very confused. I'm very confused as a, as a person who doesn't watch movies or listen to that podcast, I'm confused as to what the drama is about.
