How Long Gone by Jason Stewart How long gone? It is Chris Black, a beautiful sunny morning here in New York City, them jeans, your final hours at the idyllic Sea Ranch. Are you feeling centered?
Jason Stewart (0:29)
I'm feeling as centered as somebody who could be podcasting at 6:45 a.m. But yeah, I'm feeling good. My body has relaxed and unclenched. I think I slept on the floor last night for a few hours.
Chris Black (0:45)
I'm sorry, what?
Jason Stewart (0:46)
We were just like watching TV and I put some, I just put a couple of beach towels down on the carpet floor in the living room. Sometimes the floor is more comfortable than the bed. In like a, in a justy kind of way, if you hit it just right, you know what I mean?
I brought a yoga block and a little lacrosse ball, so I was rolling around, you know.
Chris Black (1:08)
Jesus Christ, man.
Jason Stewart (1:10)
Getting in there.
Chris Black (1:11)
No, you gotta get in there.
I guess car travel, you hold on, sorry. You flew with a yoga block and a lacrosse ball?
Jason Stewart (1:18)
Yeah.
Chris Black (1:19)
Wow.
Jason Stewart (1:19)
I always fly with a ball.
Chris Black (1:21)
Yeah, the ball.
Jason Stewart (1:22)
No, of course, the ball don't take up no space.
Chris Black (1:24)
The ball is what?
Jason Stewart (1:25)
That's half of one of your little Tom Brown socks or whatever. The, but the yoga block in my defense, it's the foam one, so it's lighter.
It does take up a little chunk of space in the suitcase, but you know, I'm over here in Sea Ranch, I'm wearing t-shirts and shorts.
Chris Black (1:43)
You're sure you don't need a lot of clothing, I understand.
Jason Stewart (1:45)
Yeah, the formal wear was left at home. All the trenches were at home. The, my black fleece, the row Patagonia half zip left that one at home.
Chris Black (1:57)
I saw that going viral, the 1850
Jason Stewart (1:59)
Yeah, we were walking, Carolyn and I were walking yesterday. She's like, I really want to get like a thin black fleece kind of thing. I think it could be the vibe. And I was like, this one, this one, this one. She's like, no, maybe one like by the row. And I was like, very funny. And then four hours later.
Chris Black (2:16)
1850, I mean, look, prices are prices. If people are willing to pay, what are you supposed to?
Jason Stewart (2:20)
It's a great piece, it's cute.
Chris Black (2:21)
You know, what are you supposed to do?
Jason Stewart (2:22)
I'm literally wearing the Patagonia version of it right now. Mine's vintage, of course.
Chris Black (2:26)
I can't wear the snap tee. It doesn't look good on me. I don't know what it is. I love it. It's a classic piece of American clothing, but I can't do it. I've tried a million times.
Jason Stewart (2:35)
Maybe you just like focusing more on the legs or something like that? Is there a way that you can kind of build out the traps and kind of have the snap tea dance on the body a little bit better?
Chris Black (2:44)
I don't know. Something about it.
Jason Stewart (2:45)
Is it not hanging off of your frame?
Chris Black (2:47)
Doesn't work for me. I think I tried and I've put the idea.
Jason Stewart (2:51)
Are you impure of heart? I have.
Chris Black (2:52)
Well, definitely that. Yeah, no question on that. But I've tried. But I was talking to you earlier about, because I think that I saw that the grocery store granola brand, Purely Elizabeth.
Jason Stewart (3:09)
That name is so funny. They opened for soul coughing in 94
Chris Black (3:13)
It's very soul coughing, like coffee house, serious XMU vibe.
Brennan Wedl (3:18)
Purely Elizabeth.
Jason Stewart (3:19)
Do you have to say it in the John Early voice?
Chris Black (3:21)
$850 million. Okay. Look, I know that Purely Elizabeth has branched out beyond like Fat Boy granola and into other. They have several other. They probably have oatmeal that you can heat up in the-
Oh, yeah.
Jason Stewart (3:38)
They have a lot more skews now.
Chris Black (3:39)
They have hella skews. But I was like, damn, it's really, I don't know, man. I thought that we all knew, maybe it's impossible for us to resist, but we all know that granola is just basically candy. It's like bad for you, but it tastes so good, which I love granola. There's no question.
