Hey, hey, friends, welcome back to another episode of the Work Hard Mom Hard Podcast. It has been a minute since I have been into your ears here on this platform. It is no secret that this past year has been a very transformative year for me, letting go of the work I was doing, creating space to live in an RV, moving states, going through a divorce, now being a single mom and dating. Like so many things have changed in my life.
And one thing that's been very constant is a friendship that I've had with Tory Dube.
And what's interesting about our friendship is that we have had so many parallels, so many life experiences happening at the same time, which rarely happens, right? We went through miscarriages at the same time, we went through divorces at the same time, we're now dating at the same time to very good friends, which is just such a fun experience and just so juicy, right? It's very painful at times, but it's also very joyful.
And throughout our experience, I have this show, the Work Hard Mom Hard Podcast, and she has her show, An Excellent Example of Being a Human. And we just decided we have all these incredible conversations of sifting and sorting through what we're going on. We decided why not merge the two and create something new, where we can have a space to have conversations about what is important to us and also remind ourselves in the hard spaces that it's important to sit in them and hold each other and hold space for each other in that. And so we wanted to bring that conversation, these conversations, to the airwaves. And I'm so excited to drop for you here our very first episode one of This Feels Important called This Feels Important. So I hope you join the conversation over on the new show. I hope you join the conversation with us over on Instagram. That is where we are going to be playing the most, having a conversation with what you want to talk about and those conversations that maybe you're a little scared to talk about. We just recorded an episode today on sex and we're just going for it. So I hope that you enjoy this episode. I hope that you continue the journey in my evolution as a woman, as a writer, as a friend, as a mother, and just come along for the ride. So enjoy this episode and I will see you over there.

I want to send a nice little tight, oh, I'm doing great, I'm kicking ass.
But instead, I just keep asking like, does it feel important to just show up a little bit messy right now? And I'll say like, to Kari, things with no solution. Hi, I'm having an excruciating time just allowing things to happen right now. Okay, bye. And Kari doesn't say, let's map out a plan. She says, okay, love ya.
If we can give you anything, we hope that we give you permission to just be that and find your people who just are that. Because we have avoided that space for so long.
Kari Keating (3:26)
Aw.
All right, friends, welcome to episode one of This Feels Important with my bestie, Tory Dube and myself, Kari Keating. What is up? We are so excited that you are here and that we are here finally creating this space because this has been a long time coming. So I think the best place to start, because there's people from my world who are joining who maybe don't know Tory, people from Tory's world who are joining this conversation who don't know me, I think the best place to start is to introduce ourselves and then kind of talk through our intentions and some of the thoughts that we have as we move into creating this container for these conversations. So without further ado, let me introduce you all to my dear friend, my sister in shine, my cheese fucking solid rock of a human being, Kari Keating, Tory Dube.
Tory Dube (4:31)
Woohoo! To clarify, I am not a solid rock of a human being, but I think Kari and I will both attest to one of the most beautiful lessons that we've moved through this past year, was that you can show up for your friends and not have it all together. So before I go into who I am, just publicly thanking Kari for creating the safe space to let me know the power of women. It is so healing. And we've had so many conversations that literally have changed our DNA. And we're like, maybe we should share this. Maybe we should just push record on some of these. So hi, my name is Tory Dube. I live in San Diego. And in the past five years, I've worked in the holistic nutrition, positive psychology, business coaching space.
