I went to a pub. Well, some people are calling it a fake pub because it's nice and new, but it's called the Fat Badger in Notting Hill.
And it was, you know what fascinated me? Because this is obviously my first experience in getting caught up in the vortex of football in real time.
You know, when like, when sports are on at places in America, in my experience, everybody's kind of hanging out and the sports are on, you know what I mean? Like some people are concentrating more than others, but overall we're socializing and there's some TVs in the room.

**Jason Stewart** (1:03)
The game's on, but the bros are chatting. We're getting another round of wings.

Yeah.

And I have a feeling the opposite was happening down at the Badger.

The Badger was rammed with, you know, like hot West End girls and the guys that can afford them. And it was, yeah, it was, it was full concentration.

Every single person in the room was facing the screen. Like there was, you know what I mean? There was no, like, there was no side convo's going on. So it was, I stayed, I stayed till like 12th. I couldn't do the 2 a.m. I couldn't, I didn't have it in me.

**Jason Stewart** (1:37)
Oh yeah, I forgot. Yeah. I mean, I was watching the match around lunchtime, I feel.

**Chris Black** (1:41)
It was, it was like a 10, 10 p.m. start. So Issy and I had dinner in the neighborhood and then we walked over.
And, you know, British people, she just knows more about football than I would ever imagine that she would. You know, it's, it really is a cultural difference.

**Jason Stewart** (1:55)
It's just, I'm looking at photos of the Fat Badger. I don't know if I would call this a pub. This looks like a very nice rustic restaurant.

Hey, I'm just telling you, I agree with you, but I'm not, I'm not an expert. It was referred to as a pub to me.
It's connected to that restaurant, Canteen. I think I've been to, it's quite good. I think you might have been there too.

**Jason Stewart** (2:13)

But anyway.

I mean, is there, do we need to invent a new word for a modern, nice, Well, back in the, venture capital backed pub?

**Chris Black** (2:22)
Back in the day, it was gastropub, you know?

**Jason Stewart** (2:25)
Yeah, this is a gas, Fat Badger is a great gastropub addition into the marketplace because you can also have, you know, I'm sure at your table, you can get a little cup full of pretzel sticks or sun chips or cheesy doodle sticks.
And then also, if you need, you know, a quail's brain or a calf's liver or, you know, a duck terrain, don't mind if I do. We also are offering a Weiser Melon smoothie for 14 quid here.

Yeah, it's definitely a little bit of that. But I also, I think that the differentiation that I've been hearing is it's not a real boozer, which, you know, obviously I know the difference between, even though people seem to be boozing as well as other things, I know the difference between bar and real boozer, I think.

**Jason Stewart** (3:11)
Okay, so for our listeners at home, a boozer is like you go to, we're doing serious drinking here versus, we're milling about having a glass of orange, some type of spritz and that's about it versus we're going here, 50% chance we're getting arrested kind of vibe, I'm going to call the guy. That kind of stuff.

It seemed to be people in the packet last night, when several guys are going to the bathroom together, it only means one thing, Jason, and that's cocaine or gay sex. So it could have been both.

**Jason Stewart** (3:41)
Yeah, so they said this white powder is going back to where it belongs, it is coming home, right up the old trusty.

It's coming home.

But the best part was I didn't know, obviously I don't follow the sport, so when the first goal was scored by England, everyone started singing Hey Jude. I was like, what the? Is this just like a British song that everybody likes? Like what's going on? And then I did find out the player's name.
