All right, this episode of How Long Gone is brought to you by Stateside with Kai and Carter, a new podcast from The Guardian. And they are using this podcast to slow down the news and wrestle with the questions that we all have about what's happening in the world. And they do it three times a week, Jason. Does that sound familiar to you?

**Jason Stewart** (0:13)
We don't really talk about a lot of international, global news items and climates and cultures and sports and things like that. We do talk about fashion and wellness, but for everything else, Kai and Carter are a great place.

**Chris Black** (0:26)
All right, so who couldn't use more news? Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube.
How Long Gone, Chris Black, here with my illustrious co-host, Jason Stewart. I am in East Hampton on a little family holiday. So I am looking at trees, which they keep telling me is really good for me. I don't know if you have any data to back that up.

**Jason Stewart** (1:06)
Who are these, are the people who are telling you this just random scientists or the loved ones?

**Chris Black** (1:10)
Oh, scientists and loved ones are out of the picture completely. This is mostly Twitter and stuff. So no sort of experts, let's say, in the field.

**Jason Stewart** (1:20)
The opposite of scientists and family members, Twitter.

**Chris Black** (1:23)
Exactly, exactly.

**Jason Stewart** (1:24)
Okay, yeah, I'm good, I'm good. It's just a whirlwind weekend. Got back from London, as you obviously know, and then had a nice, I was able to reacclimate with American time zones very well. Went to sleep, had a great night's sleep, and then went to the Keep the Meter Running, LA premiere with our friend Kareem and Adam Faze, did a little Q&A, it was nice, and had a little Del Taco for din, and here we are.

**Chris Black** (1:55)
Where was the Keep the Meter Running? When is the Kareem promo cycle? It feels like maybe we're on a treadmill of Kareem promo cycle.

**Jason Stewart** (2:04)
We are, yes.

**Chris Black** (2:04)
Between this, his YouTube is TV, blah, blah, blah, and JLo saying that if you're not born in New York, it's been a huge week for Kareem, a huge month for Kareem.

**Jason Stewart** (2:16)
The guy is good at going viral.
Say what you want about the guy. Great at going viral. Now, I was talking to him last night and he was saying the reason why the push feels even more so is that now that quote unquote new media is eligible for Emmys.

**Chris Black** (2:36)
Oh, it's an FYC.

**Jason Stewart** (2:37)
Yeah. In addition to, like you said, his very famous shows and rolling out premieres for all these things, he's also doing FYC campaigns and having to go hang out with the fucking old weirdos who are the voting. He's like, I got to hang out with some old guy who was like on an episode of MASH in 1977, and he's the one who's going to control the fate of my future.

**Chris Black** (3:01)
If Kareem gets an Emmy, and we can't give him that, it's too much power for the brown guy living in Connecticut to also have an Emmy in his house. You know what I mean? His neighbors will finally be nice to him.
This could actually affect his output, I think, if you really think about it. But I'm happy for him because it seems like the response is very positive. Yes, not to JLo, but that is the whole.

**Jason Stewart** (3:23)
Well, he actually said that JLo was very chill. And he said she was, you know, in terms of the hyperzole.

**Chris Black** (3:29)
Well, the rumors online say otherwise. I don't know if you're familiar with, all my real gossip heads in here will know, Crazy Days and Nights, which is one of the OG, like, web 1 gossip websites. It's more of a Twitter follow for most people now.

**Jason Stewart** (3:44)
Crazy Days and Nights? Okay, keep cutting, Alba.

**Chris Black** (3:49)
It's been around since literally like web 1.0, and it's sort of like this.
It's apparently, they uncovered who it was, but for a long time, they said it was like an anonymous entertainment lawyer is the lore that they tried to weave. It said that J-Lo didn't want that to come out, is what I heard.

**Jason Stewart** (4:10)
But really, that's what I heard.

**Chris Black** (4:11)
But Kareem, don't give a fuck.
That's why Kareem is winning is because Kareem don't give a fuck. He said, J-Lo, I might never see you again. But you saying you're not a New Yorker unless you're born here is going to get the clicks of a lifetime.
