9 Biggest Winners & Losers After Week 1 of NFL Training Camp

One veteran has drastically changed how I'm looking at him. Another one of my must draft players has fallen completely off of my draft board after a wild opening week of training camp. Joey Wright and I are here to discuss some of the biggest risers and fallers. Joey, I think we've got to start with Malik neighbors. This is a guy who a lot of people were expecting to fall into round four, round five of fantasy drafts. Now we get some videos of him looking spry coming off of that ACL. He is cutting and running routes like nothing ever happened. And now we see him jumping into the second half of round two of fantasy drafts. How high should he continue moving up draft boards?

I mean, he's going right now kind of alongside Crystal Lave, Rashid Rice and AJ Brown. And I think you could easily say that his ceiling is much higher than those guys. I mean, right around, it should be in that tier. But I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he finishes there. I think he should be going there.
We saw him on the practice field last week in training camp for three days. And then a scheduled day off on Friday, which our trainers, they said they were gonna have them off on Friday. He showed a little bit of signs with his knee that he was favoring a little bit, but he's still got six weeks before he's got to go and get to Dallas. We've seen him have the wider receiver seven season in 2024 Was off to a hot start last year.
I am drafting Malik neighbors in that range with Olavi Rice and AJ. Brown. Maybe AJ. Brown is the only guy I'm taking before him a wide receiver at this point. I think I just feel a lot more comfortable with AJ. Brown. But yeah, I mean, he's going to continue to rise to probably this point. Do you think he can go higher, though?

You know, I did a draft this morning where I saw him go 20th overall. And I was I was a degenerate this weekend, Joey. I did nothing. I went for a hike early on Saturday morning. And then I sat around and I did about 35 best ball drafts for the rest of my weekend. And one of the major things I was watching was Malik neighbors. And it's kind of funny when you see the steam start to pick up because, like I said, he was kind of going round four, sometimes falling into round five a week ago. And then you started to see him like Saturday afternoon. He started going like the end of round three. Then he started going the middle of round three. Then he started consistently going at that two, three turn. And then, like I said, this morning, going 20th overall. So I think we've been looking, you know, it's something we've talked about a bit, that like when you draft first overall, a lot of the times by the time you get to that two, three turn, it feels like the board is kind of dried up and you're going to shot on a Rashi Rice, who hasn't looked good in training camp so far, or maybe you're reaching for an Emeka Buka, or a Zay Flowers, or a Chris Alave. And now I think neighbors, I mean, this is a guy had he not been coming off the ACL tier, would be a consensus first round pick. So you're still getting a little bit of a discount here, but I think where he's going, like in that 18 to 20 range, I think that's probably where he's going to settle in. And if we get word that he's just like full go, like no limitations, he's going to be out there week one, it wouldn't surprise me if we see him creep up into like 14th, 15th overall.

So around like CD Lamb around that area?

I'd be shocked if he can get ahead of Justin Jefferson or CD Lamb. I think that's kind of the point just because those guys are coming off healthy seasons. Of course, we've got the questions with Justin Jefferson, how he performed with McCarthy last year. But I think that those guys each having like an overall wide receiver one finish under their belt will insulate them somewhat.
But you know, we see this pocket of running backs like Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Walker. And I think there's a lot of question marks in that tier and they're getting pushed up. It would not surprise me if Malik Neighbors just leaps over all of those running backs and kind of settles into the one two turn.
