Two weeks down, an eternity to go, what is up? Welcome to WireTapped, Club Fantasy's weekly waiver wire show. And I don't think there's a better epitome of what this season is than the Chicago Bears offense. Week one was amazing for fantasy. Everything went well, the injuries weren't that bad.

We score 59 points. Week two, we manage a field goal. Everybody's hurt, things did not go as well for the NFL in scoring. I think there were more points in the Bears game in week one than there were in the first half of every game in week two. It was an ugly, ugly week. But the good news is, sometimes coming out of an ugly week, you get a very, very good waiver wire. And I think that's the case today. Let's get into it.

What is up? Welcome to WireTapped, Club Fantasy's weekly waiver wire show. I'm Ryan Weiss, in the host seat, Josh Hudson flying with me. How you doing today, buddy? It was an interesting week too.

Josh Hudson (1:18)

Yeah, we were talking a little bit before the show, and your Chicago Bears analogy was pretty spot on.

My work league, I scored 175 points in week one. Week two, I scored 80

Ryan Weiss (1:30)

Yep.

Josh Hudson (1:31)

That's pretty much fantasy football in a nutshell for me this year. It's been highs and then lows. There's no in between.

Ryan Weiss (1:40)

Simply watching the Bears fans after Caleb Williams got hurt, I was like, yeah, that's how I felt looking at my fantasy team. So now they know how I feel, Bears fans. But yeah, what a wild week. Josh has the link in the description of this video. I'm sure you'll drop it in the chat as well. NFL news and notes coming out of week two.

First news is from late last night, Jackson Darst suffers a sprained MCL likely to miss a few weeks. Dallas Goddard is going to also miss a few weeks with a sprained MCL. The Eagles go out and get Zach Ertz added to their practice squad. Keep in mind their rookie Eli Stowers is also on IR. Speaking of tight ends on the IR, David Njoku and Charlie Kohler go to the IR. More on that a little bit in the show. Michael Pennex is, I think, Josh, you have him as expected to start. I thought I read he was named the starter for Thursday night. So I believe Michael Pennex will be the Atlanta Falcons starter barring a setback this week.

Josh Hudson (2:52)

Yeah, everything I've heard from Falcons fans has been, oh, he's been ready to play the first two weeks. He's just declined and basically said, oh, I'm not ready yet. So I figured I would just put expected to start. Just in case Pennex says, nope, I need another 10 days.

Ryan Weiss (3:09)

I had not heard that. And that does not bode well for the Atlanta Falcons.

Josh Hudson (3:13)

Yeah, so that's kind of where that wording came in.

Ryan Weiss (3:17)

Yeah, speaking of not boding well, Caleb Williams went down with what appeared to be a gruesome injury. I am not a doctor.

I immediately thought Achilles because of the way he pulled up. Turns out it's a grade one hamstring strain, has not been ruled out for week three. Here's the issue. They play on Monday night. You need to have a backup plan. More on that in just a little bit. Jayden Reed suffered a back injury. He was actually stretchered off the field. Looked terrible. No timetable for return on that one. What do you know? Jayden Daniels is injured again. Between Jackson Dart and Jayden Daniels, I don't know what is more predictable of an injury. I'm not trying to make fun of this. I'm just saying we told you this was going to happen. Dislocated the left elbow for the third time. Not good folks. Marcus Mariota is going to start week three and probably far beyond that.

Kyler Murray has cleared. Even Cushion Protocol will take the job from Carson Wentz heading into week three. Alec Pierce aggravated a heel injury. His plan is to go for rehab versus having a surgery on it. He is likely to miss a few weeks. But of course, that means that opens a roster spot for somebody. And a club fantasy favorite, Darius Slayton, is signed by the Indianapolis Colts. Josh, just a quick fantasy rundown of any of this early news and notes in the show.
