Welcome to No Plot Intended, presented by Club Fantasy after a wild week one. Certainly the most points scored I can remember in a very, very long time. We move into week two and hope it can be that fun again. Though I have to admit, for a lot of my fantasy teams, it did not work out the way I wanted it to. There were some stars, there were some duds. We're not gonna talk a lot about that because this is not a recap show. This is a focus on the next week's show. We are on to week two. Let's get into it.
Welcome to No Put Intentive, by Club Fantasy, Ryan Weiss in the host seat. We got Joe Zolo back for a week. We did a weird show a week before the season was even going to start. And then Joe's like, yeah, I need some more time off. So I am back. Josh Hudson is back. Josh has no choice to be back because all he does is sit around in a wheelchair now and wait for the next time he can be live on the air. Josh, how you do it, buddy?
Josh Hudson (1:22)
I mean, without the wheelchair, that pretty much sounds like my life right about now. So you're not wrong, dude.
Ryan Weiss (1:28)
So I try to keep up on the comments even while the intro is going, but I also try not to let it affect my professionalism, which is a term I use loosely. But Vince Vargas got me as he goes right before we go live. My team is screwed. Like literally as I was coming on the air, I read this and Vince, I can so relate. We don't spend a ton of time talking about our own fantasy teams, but I'm just going to quickly throw out.
I am such a shit talker in my home league. I told you guys about it before. 20-plus years league. I've made the playoffs like four consecutive years.
It's my pride and joy. I talk all this shit. I named myself champion in our little weekly podcast. We do. I scored the fewest amount of points in the entire league this week, and everybody is just shitting on me every chance they get. It was a rough week one, Josh. I am not in a good place right now.
Josh Hudson (2:18)
Oh, dude. So I was going through and I'm like kind of looking at it. I think I won like six of my matchups and I'm in like 22 leagues, right? And I tell you this with the premise of in six of these leagues, I finished top three in scoring and only won two of them.
Like, that was my week one in a nutshell. And I was like, well, I can only go up from here.
Ryan Weiss (2:42)
So yeah, that's very true. Yeah, you're yours.
I actually did well in a win loss record. But as much as I love winning other leagues, there's something about getting the win in my home league. And I did not pull that off this week. So that kind of destroyed things for me. All right.
Let's get into it. As always, hit that like button, hit that subscribe button. If you feel like we're taking too long to answer your question, throw us a couple bucks. We do have super chat. We'll move you to the front of the line. Also, if you're so inclined, jump into our Discord. It is completely free. We talk DFS, we drop my start sits, my streams of the week, all of that hits the Discord. It's a great conversation you have going on over there. Our buddy Hoov does such a great job just kind of like keeping the environment and keeping the community. I really, really enjoy what Hoov is doing over there. Josh, I'm sitting here looking at the news and notes. I had accidentally scrolled to the week one sheet and I'm like, this doesn't feel right.
Josh Hudson (3:32)
There's a lot of notes.
Ryan Weiss (3:34)
There's a lot of news and notes which I'm now going to read to you. So I'm just gonna quickly run through this and then I'll let Josh jump in for any fantasy relevance.
I'm seeing the chat starting to fill up already. We will get to every question. A lot of you have been here before, but just so you know, we never let a question go unanswered. We're just trying to run a segment, then run a whole thing of your questions, then we'll run another segment. So it will all get taken care of. NFL News and Notes. Seattle has ruled out Sam Darnold for week two. It is a strange hip injury, a glute injury. They're calling it strange, which never works out well, but he will not be playing week two against Arizona. Detroit has ruled out two of their offensive linemen, Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany, both for the Thursday night game at Buffalo. Deshawn Stribbling going to the IR likely to miss ten weeks, and Jake Tongus on the season ending IR. Brock Bowers is now considered day to day.
