What's the best way of being sure that something is secure? You watch someone trying to break it in front of your very eyes. As a Yah Lah But listener, we know you'd rather test something yourself than take someone's word for it. That's why you need to get yourself to Cyber Security World Asia, one of five shows across TechWeek happening 29th and 30th September at MBS. A self-driving vehicle will be put to the test live to show how autonomous tech can be hacked in real time. The best part is, it's all free to attend. One pass gives you access to everything, including four other shows covering AI, big data, data centers and DevOps. So if, like us, you're curious about how secure the tech running our lives actually is, this is where you go to find out. Links in the show notes. We hope to see you there. And now, on to the podcast.

What's up everybody? Welcome to another episode of Yah Lah But.
Terence (0:52)
But, but, but, but.
Haresh (0:53)
Your thrice weekly podcast, where we talk about the hottest news with a touch of what, Terence?
Terence (0:58)
Good old humor.
Haresh (1:00)
Good old humor, man.
Terence (1:01)
Yeah.
Haresh (1:02)
How has the, how's the week been, man?
Terence (1:05)
We got a sneak preview of what the end of the year would feel like.
Temperature plunged yesterday, apparently to 22 degrees, man. Yeah, man. 22 degrees Celsius. Usually that only happens like December, early January, right? Yeah.
Haresh (1:19)
It's been a while since we talked about the weather.
Terence (1:22)
The haze, we talk about the haze.
Haresh (1:23)
The haze, but you know, the heat, I think because now the heat is the default, but yeah, we did get a glimpse and it was really nice.
Terence (1:30)
It was nice. Yeah. Went for a walk, everything.
Haresh (1:32)
So nice. And you can feel the wind on your face.
Terence (1:35)
Yeah.
Haresh (1:35)
And you're not like sticky and sweaty all the time.
Terence (1:37)
Yeah. The king public transports like cold, man. Cold. Cold. People were like throwing on jackets and everything.
Haresh (1:45)
But I mean, when you take the air-conditioned bus, don't you feel that the air-con is always damn powerful? I always just push the direction of the air-con away.
Terence (1:51)
Depends. So if it's a very hot day outside, I'm probably sweating buckets anyway. So I kind of need that air-con. But I still was like, it was really like raining and cold outside. Then I stepped to the air-con, I'm like, it was like a scene from a movie or something, where I was in winter time.
Haresh (2:07)
I also noticed you were less unpleasant yesterday. That was probably ill.
Terence (2:10)
Less unpleasant? How so?
Haresh (2:12)
I mean, just friendlier, smilier.
Terence (2:15)
Why? What was the elements that you noticed that are less unpleasant?
Haresh (2:20)
Like maybe less snarky remarks. Like when I talk to you, it actually feels like you're listening.
Terence (2:25)
Oh, you mean like, not like you, you interrupt people all the time and all that.
Haresh (2:30)
Like when Terence?
Terence (2:33)
Literally, I couldn't even finish my sentence just before this, talking about the weather and then you already like, and you wanted to squeeze in. Case in point.
Haresh (2:42)
Don't tell me you don't do this. You just said case while I'm talking.
Terence (2:46)
I haven't even finished my sentence.
Haresh (2:49)
Sometimes, you know, you talk about self-awareness. I think, you know, just once in a while, look in the mirror, Terence.
Terence (2:54)
I'm glad though that the last episode, I brought up the thing about you looking away during a meeting and then it very affecting someone else and completely going against what you espouse as- My pet peeve. Yeah, your own pet peeve about people at meetings. And then you said, I'll find out from you after the meeting because you didn't believe me, right?
Haresh (3:15)
And then I told you and then immediately you're like, Okay, so the additional context which Terence failed to provide is the only reason I was looking away at my phone was because we had an afternoon meeting and the episode was due to be published. And part of our role or my role in the team is to work with one of our teammates on the thumbnails and titles. So I had to respond.
So you missed out that detail that I wasn't doing something trivial or superfluous on my phone. It was because the episode needed to go out. And I realized that's not ideal, I acknowledge, but what else do you want me to do? Step away? Maybe in future I will step away. But I think you failed to provide that it was for the, for the podcast, Terence Chia.
