What's the best way of being sure that something is secure? You watch someone trying to break it in front of your very eyes. As a Yah Lah But listener, we know you'd rather test something yourself than take someone's word for it. That's why you need to get yourself to Cyber Security World Asia, one of five shows across TechWeek happening 29th and 30th September at MBS. A self-driving vehicle will be put to the test live to show how autonomous tech can be hacked in real time. The best part is, it's all free to attend. One pass gives you access to everything, including four other shows covering AI, big data, data centers and DevOps. So if, like us, you're curious about how secure the tech running our lives actually is, this is where you go to find out. Links in the show notes. We hope to see you there. And now, on to the podcast.

What's up everybody? Welcome to another episode of Yah Lah.
Terence (0:51)
Ba ba ba ba.
Haresh (0:53)
Your thrice weekly podcast where we talk about the hottest news with a touch of what, Terence?
Terence (0:57)
Good old humor.
Haresh (0:58)
Good old humor, man. How was the weekend, man?
Terence (1:02)
It was pretty good. The haze was pretty strong and everything. But I'm sure there weren't a lot of people outdoors. Because this week is PSLE week.
So all the parents and the kids are all indoors, like cramming away before Thursday.
Haresh (1:16)
Were you outdoors?
Terence (1:18)
I wanted to be for a while. I organized a little playdate thingy, but then had to bring all that indoors because of the PSI.
Haresh (1:27)
Which was worse, Saturday or Sunday? Saturday was better.
Terence (1:30)
And it changed so quickly. In the morning, it looked perfectly fine. By the time noon came around, it was like Silent Hill.
Haresh (1:36)
So this is what all the parents all say together, we unite and bring the kids together?
Terence (1:40)
We were given silent ultimatums like, oh, hey, is this playdate still happening?
Were you the organizer? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was hosting it, yeah, yeah, yeah. So then I was like, oh, okay, okay, then, yeah, okay, get the message, you know, give us a bit of time, we'll shift everything. Indoors, yeah, yeah. And you know, hosting groups of kids, outdoors versus indoors, very different, right? Indoors, we got to deal with the decibel levels and all. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was fine. Just needed a bit more time. That's why, I mean, you have to move and change the conditions of the gig according to the winds, right?
Haresh (2:18)
But I hope people didn't come to the play date and criticize your choice of music and all that.
Terence (2:23)
No, no, they loved it. They loved it.
Haresh (2:25)
I chose the music.
Terence (2:26)
I chose, but I very specifically chose music that can appeal to people in their 40s, but also fun for young kids. Like what? Like Pharrell Williams, Happy.
Haresh (2:37)
Ah, see? But that's your understanding of what young kids would like. For people listening, the context is when Terence came to my two year old birthday party a couple of weeks ago, he was first, and then he just walked away thinking that I was projecting my choice of music onto the kids.
Terence (2:54)
But you were, right? You set up the speakers connected to your phone.
Haresh (2:57)
Because there were multiple adults there.
Terence (3:01)
And then you only selected music entirely yourself.
Haresh (3:04)
Seeing that you think happy and all that resonates with the kids, my daughter likes the music choices that I choose. She loves Macarena now. So yeah, you want to keep your kids open minded as well.
Terence (3:16)
Yeah, so I didn't decide.
Haresh (3:18)
She genuinely loves Macarena.
Terence (3:19)
I just went on Spotify and I looked up kids, happy playlist. Then I looked through, okay, adults also can listen to this. So it's a general consensus of what the masses think.
Haresh (3:30)
But there was a playdate, you know. The playdate is really focused on the kids. A kid's birthday is bringing people together of all ages.
You know, of all ages. Yeah, but I'm glad none of your guests were critical of your hosting prowess.
Terence (3:44)
All very, all very happy with the music.
Haresh (3:46)
How you know they're happy?
Terence (3:47)
Did like a, you know, feedback form, basically. After that, all very happy.
Haresh (3:52)
Oh, is it?
Terence (3:56)
Why, why you don't believe that?
Haresh (3:57)
Please lah, why you go and ask them, you say, eh, did everybody have fun and all that? It's all-
