D-d-d-d-doo...

Joe Rogan (0:03)

Shane Mauss, ladies and gentlemen, ive from our studio in beautiful 818

Shane Mauss (0:09)

Thanks for having me.

Joe Rogan (0:10)

Thanks for tuttoing, buddy. I was saying before the show, you have the Duncan Truesel Seal of Approval.

Shane Mauss (0:15)

Yeah, thanks, Duncan. Yeah, yeah, I just had my grei ng time on his show recently.

Joe Rogan (0:21)

No, he's one of the rarest people I've ever met in my life. I don't know anyone like Duncan.

Shane Mauss (0:27)

No, me either.

Joe Rogan (0:27)

There's a few guys that I know who are like, that is just a stone cold original. Duncan's one of those.

Shane Mauss (0:34)

Yeah, he's hilarious.

Joe Rogan (0:35)

He's awesome. Did he give you the full virtual reality experience?

Shane Mauss (0:39)

I did, that stuff's amazing. I can't, and he told me that the porn is really crazy in it too, but he didn't show me any of the porn.

Joe Rogan (0:45)

Yeah, he got me close to the porn, he gave me the headset, like, no, I got right up to the wall, I'm like, I'm not going, I'm not going into The Matrix.

Shane Mauss (0:55)

Yeah, I hit a wall in his room, shooting or dodging a thing or whatever. It is exceptionally realistic, it's incredible.

Joe Rogan (1:06)

Did you do the archery game?

Shane Mauss (1:08)

Yeah, the little guys storm the castle.

Joe Rogan (1:11)

How fun is that?

Shane Mauss (1:12)

There's another archery one that I played too, that's awesome, an archery game where you had to dodge, and you're moving the matrix to dodge away from there. It was a good workout.

Joe Rogan (1:26)

So you can see the arrows.

Shane Mauss (1:27)

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Joe Rogan (1:28)

No, I would imagine it is a good workout, because I did his boxing one, and that's a good workout. You're like boxing against this guy, this video guy. And I showed it to some fighters, and I was like, I really think that this could be an amazing training tool. If they could figure out how to make the headset so that, maybe if the cord was in the back, if it didn't interfere, as long as you didn't do anything when you had to spin around, it would probably be effective.

But they can map your body movements. Like they had that, Jamie, you would notice that, wasn't there an Xbox one where it just sort of takes a picture of your body as you're standing there?

Jamie (2:03)

Yeah, the Kinect.

I had this fixed before the show, and I'll get it fixed again. Yeah, the Kinect can read your body heat. It can pick up, it's not reading your skeleton, but it can pick up your limbs and stuff.

Joe Rogan (2:15)

So it picks up the length of your limbs as well?

Jamie (2:17)

It can tell where they're moving. Like if you do the insanity or something like that, that will work out.

It can tell how high you're lifting your knees up. But if you're not bringing them up to the right level, it'll tell you, like, bring them up higher, lift your legs higher, lift your knees up, lift your knees up, you're not going high enough. Like, give you points based on how you're doing and whatnot.

Joe Rogan (2:34)

Obviously, this is rudimentary in comparison to what it's going to be in a few years.

Shane Mauss (2:37)

Oh, yeah. And with police training and stuff like that, especially once, I don't know exactly how they do it, but once it's, like, kind of wireless, so you don't have the cord attached to you, and then maybe you could have, like, larger facilities than just a small room eventually. And I don't know.

Joe Rogan (2:53)

I think they're already doing that. Didn't you say they were already doing that? They're doing warehouses, they're setting up warehouses for VR sets, and they're gonna have feedback in the warehouses, like fans that blow wind on you, and there's gonna be movement on some parts of the ground.

Shane Mauss (3:12)

Yeah, I played one of the ones, was a paintball one, with other people that were online. And I mean, I guess we've had kind of, people have been playing other people online, but when you're doing it in virtual reality, it's just a totally different thing.

Joe Rogan (3:27)

Well, I can only imagine. I saw there was one that they had these people on an omni-directional treadmill. Have you seen those?

Shane Mauss (3:35)

No.

Joe Rogan (3:35)

You sit-

Shane Mauss (3:36)

I get the idea of it, though.
