What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Yah Lah But. Your thrice weekly podcast where we talk about the hottest news with a touch of what, Terence?

**Terence** (0:53)
Good old humor.

**Haresh** (0:54)
Good old humor, man. How's life, Terence?

**Terence** (0:58)
It's pretty good. I mean, this is National Day week.

**Haresh** (1:01)
Yeah, man.

**Terence** (1:03)
We're very red in our studio as well.

**Haresh** (1:06)
Is it?

**Terence** (1:07)
There's an additional red light that we put there now.

**Haresh** (1:09)
Oh, so if you're just listening, you might want to tune into the video to check out the red light.

**Terence** (1:14)
In full 4K.

**Haresh** (1:15)
In full 4K.

**Terence** (1:17)
But aren't you feeling the spirit, the National Day spirit? This time of the year, I mean, all the songs, everywhere you walk, you hear the NDP songs, right?

**Haresh** (1:26)
Yeah. I mean, because the past few days, I've been moving house. So like, I feel like I haven't had the time to look, like get the NDP mood. I think a few weeks before, feeling it a bit more, just with the more flags and all.
But now I have to get it back up again.

**Terence** (1:44)
The forest in your old place was being...

**Haresh** (1:46)
Just clearing, yeah. I spent the past four days just cutting down, chasing pangolins out.

**Terence** (1:52)
But okay lah, I mean, it's all around Singapore, right? Like I mentioned, any MRT you walk into, they just, it's Iman Fandi or Jasmine Soko or Gareth Fernandez, I think.

**Haresh** (2:04)
Yeah, but you mean the songs, you kind of recognize it?

**Terence** (2:08)
Yeah, I recognize them, yeah.

**Haresh** (2:10)
Yeah, for me, I don't, man. Like, I think I haven't had enough time. So, okay, I think, for example, the recent World Cup song, right?

**Terence** (2:17)
Yeah.

**Haresh** (2:17)
I didn't like it at the start, but the more I listened to it, it grew on me. Because it was just one, you know? Now this approach with three songs, I don't know, man.

**Terence** (2:25)
Well, maybe because you're not giving it a chance. You need to give it a chance, like how you give to the shopping mall.

**Haresh** (2:29)
You must give three chances.

**Terence** (2:30)
Yeah. That's the thing. You got to split your time between three songs.

**Haresh** (2:32)
That's the thing. Like for World Cup, you want to feel the vibe. You just go to, you type World Cup song, YouTube, this one comes up.
I think it's like you got three, then you have to give equal chance. And like, I don't know, man.

**Terence** (2:44)
But I think a lot of this kind of negativity around the songs is a very boomer thing. It's the boomers who all want the all last time to stand up for Singapore, come with me, everything.

**Haresh** (2:54)
No, no, no. No need to be that kind of songs. I'm not saying that's the kind of song that I want also. It's just the reason for having these three songs.
Yah Lah, I think it dilutes the attention. But actually, don't just characterize me like that.

**Terence** (3:06)
But actually, most NDPs, there's actually more than, usually more than one song. It's just that they don't officially call them like, oh, these are also called NDP songs. You know, they usually designate one as the NDP song. It's just that this year, I guess they just want to spread the love to more Singapore artists and all that. Why are you so upset that more artists are getting the limelight?

**Haresh** (3:27)
I'm not upset that they are getting the limelight. So again, you know, I would like to clear that mischaracterisation.

**Terence** (3:34)
Of you as a very negative person. Yes.

**Haresh** (3:36)
And also that, you know, I don't want more artists to have more opportunities. I'm just saying like with three, I think it lessens the earworm effect of the NDP song.
