Ba ba ba ba.
**Haresh** (0:45)
Your thrice weekly podcast, where we talk about the hottest news with a touch of what, Terence?
**Terence** (0:49)
Good old humor.
**Haresh** (0:50)
Good old humor, man.
**Terence** (0:52)
Yeah.
**Haresh** (0:53)
Ah, Friday. It's Friday, TGIF.
**Terence** (0:56)
TGIF, but what a week.
**Haresh** (0:58)
What a week, man.
**Terence** (0:59)
Like, we barely just got off the World Cup train, and then, like, so many things have been happening since.
**Haresh** (1:03)
Yeah, another train came, then another train came.
**Terence** (1:06)
Yeah.
**Haresh** (1:07)
Yah Lah. I mean, these weeks are what we live for, like, these kind of weeks.
**Terence** (1:11)
But the timing was crazy, because I think we recorded our podcast on Wednesday, just talked about Prof. Fai Xiao's resignation. And then 6 p.m., the embargo was lifted on the news of the cabinet reshuffle. And yeah, we barely got time to react, right?
I don't know what, maybe as we're recording now, something big is going to be announced after this.
**Haresh** (1:31)
Yeah, because we're recording in the morning on Friday. Who knows? And I mean, Friday got some big major update, right?
**Terence** (1:37)
Is there?
**Haresh** (1:37)
I mean, sometimes, you know, when you see the news, you're like, why did this drop on Friday?
**Terence** (1:40)
Yeah, usually it's the news that they don't want so much buzz, but you put it on Friday so that the press has less time and people don't read newspapers on weekends.
**Haresh** (1:49)
Maybe the Fai Xiao thing was supposed to come out on Friday, but they're like, it's World Cup.
Weekends will be burned and all. Let's just wait.
**Terence** (1:58)
No one wants to miss the World Cup final. Even Shamugam was up at 3am watching it.
**Haresh** (2:02)
Yeah, but David Neo was working hard. But yeah, I mean, apart from that, how has the week been, man?
**Terence** (2:11)
Yeah, okay. Yeah, it's been quite intense for us because you know, we do, every time we record a podcast and it's a big topic like this, not only is there research to do and reading to do, but your mind just gets filled with so much speculation.
**Haresh** (2:27)
For certain topics.
**Terence** (2:28)
When there are no answers. And you know what my mind has, where my mind has been for the last few days.
**Haresh** (2:32)
Yeah, I know, I know. It's like, it's a blank canvas for you. It's a blank canvas for you. I'm just filling it with so many things right now.
For a lot of Singaporeans, but I know for you, your paintbrushes and like everything spray paint cancels out.
**Terence** (2:47)
Yeah, but the truth is, a lot of that is speculation. It's in my mind. But this cabinet reshuffle, is also occupying a lot of our headspace, right? Because there's a lot to digest from it.
**Haresh** (3:00)
Yeah, and I mean, this is the huge announcement that came on the 22nd of July, which is this past Wednesday where PM Wong and a few of his cabinet members held a press conference. I mean, the full video is out. It's about one hour, 10, 20 minutes, where he gave the announcements. He introduced some of the new cabinet holders, gave them time to speak, took some questions. And I mean, since then, there's been a lot of discussions. Of course, summarizing the key changes, which we will get into, analyzing the approach and just looking forward.
So basically, at the press conference, there were six people, Goh Pei Ming, Zaki Muhammad, who is the new acting Minister for Muslim Affairs, Jeffrey Siow, Lawrence Wong himself, David Neo and Jasmine Lau.
So, I mean, when you saw the news, I guess not surprising. We kind of even said that, oh, on the podcast, that maybe there will be something soon. So were you shooketh when you saw the announcement?
