You've had a dynamic where money has become freer than free.

SPEAKER_2 (0:10)

When you talk about a Fed just going nuts, all the central banks going nuts. So it's all acting like safe haven.

SPEAKER_1 (0:18)

I believe that in a world where central bankers are tripping over themselves to devalue their currency, Bitcoin wins. In a world of fiat currencies, Bitcoin is the victor.

SPEAKER_2 (0:29)

I mean, that's part of the bold case for Bitcoin.

SPEAKER_1 (0:31)

If you're not paying attention, you probably should be. You probably should be.

Marty Bent (0:36)

We don't have to slap anymore. We're not in the studio. I miss the studio.

Parker Lewis (0:40)

We do it for fun, though.

Marty Bent (0:42)

We do.

Parker Lewis (0:42)

It's good vibes.

Marty Bent (0:44)

How was Austin?

Parker Lewis (0:46)

Austin is good.

The Bitcoin vibe has died down. It's like the vibe. 2021 was a vibe having you no longer here. There's been some energy dissipating, but there's still just a ton of Bitcoiners around. So it's just like less of a meetup scene, less of Ozbit devs, but still a bunch of people around. So I see everybody.

I was at the gym with Jimmy and Syle this morning. We're going over to Jimmy's for a barbecue tomorrow. So the vibes are good, just it's a different vibe, getting back to basics. Back to basics? Before the meetups in Austin, it was bring your own steaks and well-cold sauce. So we're just getting back to that.

Marty Bent (1:31)

Yeah. I had somebody reminiscing about the beef, the mini beef steak we throw in my backyard. It was down there.

Parker Lewis (1:37)

Remember, it was after the takeover. I think it was after the first takeover. That was the time. That was early 2020 too. So I was still in that vibe.

Marty Bent (1:51)

But it was a great vibe. But we're getting back to basics today.

Parker Lewis (1:54)

I think we've got flying cars now. I don't know if you showed that off in Austin, but there's a lot going on here.

Marty Bent (2:00)

It was definitely in Texas somewhere, I would imagine.

SPEAKER_1 (2:02)

I would hope.

Marty Bent (2:05)

Yeah, I would imagine there. But we're going to get back to basics, back to first principles. I think throughout the years, you've been a grounding force on the show. For those of you new to the show, I know there's tens of thousands of you. This is Parker Lewis.

Parker Lewis (2:20)

Good to be back on Marty.

Marty Bent (2:23)

Author of Gradually Then Suddenly.

Parker Lewis (2:27)

If you found yourself buying a Bitcoin Treasury Company, go to the Nakamoto institute.org. You can read it there for free.

Marty Bent (2:34)

Yeah. Treasury, you've been on the Treasury Company tilt.

You think, talking about getting back to first principles, do you think priorities have been dissipated or diluted in the Bitcoin space?

Parker Lewis (2:49)

You know, I think that it's, you know, some of it's that it's also tiresome. Like, there's always going to be some next thing. And then those people will figure it out. And can't ever predict what the next thing is that distracts people or gets them off the, you know, just stay humble and stacks ads, but something always done. You know, it's like there's always some next iteration that you couldn't predict. And so, yeah, I think this is just an evolution of that.

And so, yeah, I do think that those, you know, the saying of everybody gets Bitcoin at the price that they deserve, well, that also applies to Bitcoin Treasury Company shareholders. Yeah, unfortunately. But it will be a learning moment for everybody. And then, you know, people will move forward stronger.

Marty Bent (3:44)

Yeah. Speaking of moving forward stronger, seems like there's a crisis of confidence in parts of the industry or parts of the holder base, if you will, with the Coldcard hacks. Last week, the ledger supply chain attacks.

And I wanted to bring you on. I know we talked on the phone about 30 minutes earlier this week. But again, I think you're a steadfast, stern voice in the space. Why right now, considering everything going on in the world, you got the hacks of Coldcard, of Ledger, you got Treasury Company stocks taking a lot of attention away from UTXOs, you've got ETFs, you've got AI, having sucked the capital out of every other asset class for the last 18 months. Why is it important to still have Bitcoin on the mind or to be stacking Bitcoin? Like have you lost it? Do you have a crisis of confidence in Bitcoin, number one? And if not, why not?
