8 Veteran Trade Targets Your Leaguemates Are Sleeping On

Everyone in your league is dumping their veterans for the shiny new toys. Today, Jeff Bell and I, we are going to talk about veterans that you need to go out and target in your dynasty leagues. We've got former first round picks, promising second acts and bounce back candidates. Jeff, let's go ahead and jump right in. Who's the guy that you are trying to trade for right now in your dynasty leagues?

This has got to be a win now situation, and a lot of this is driving off of where the redraft price is sitting. But Cortland Sutton is a player that I think if you're in a win now situation, he has completely forgotten about in dynasty. He's outside of the, I think what I saw earlier is about YDG for 56 on keep trade cut down in that area. Just completely forgotten about. We were talking about before the show about redraft. We're shifting to that mindset of redraft right now, and he's the seventh round pick and redraft. It's wide receiver 11 last year. And I know that they went out and got Jalen Waddle. Obviously, that is going to make a big impact on that passing game. But I think what we're seeing a lot of the conversation seems to be, well, Jalen Waddle is now the old Cortland Sutton, and Cortland Sutton now falls into the ambiguous receiver room with Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant. And it's just too unpredictable of where that ends up. But I really don't see that happening that way. I think the Broncos went out and got Jalen Waddle because they wanted to have two starting wide receivers instead of having a rotating core. And to me, getting Cortland Sutton is a player that's still top 20 upside, comfortable with Bo Nix, obviously knows the offense. We've seen him be highly productive in that situation. If you're a win now build right now, Cortland Sutton, I think is worth targeting.

Yeah, and I think that's exactly it. Like you say that they want to starting wide receivers. Last year, we saw them rotating through Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant and Marvin Mims. And they were just trying to find any sort of consistent play from the wide receiver too. And we couldn't. And that's why it was like a different wide receiver too every given week. Like we would see Troy Franklin was out targeting Cortland Sutton for like a month. And then all of a sudden, Pat Bryant steps in and then Marvin Mims has his time to shine. And we couldn't really figure it out. And I think this is just them saying, let's stop with this wide receiver too rotation and get a guy that we can keep out there. These are very complimentary players. And I think that what Cortland Sutton brings, the contested catch abilities, the red zone targets, like that isn't something that Jalen Waddle can replicate. So we have seen like Jalen Waddle is a very versatile player. We saw him his rookie season, just an absolute target hog, like the way that he was able to just dominate targets near the line of scrimmage. And then Tyree Kill shows up in year two, and he changes his game a little bit. He starts playing a little bit more downfield, less volume, but better efficiency. So he is a very well-rounded receiver, but we see this weird thing, Jeff, and we were talking about this a little bit pre-show, but it's kind of like ADP decides who the wide receiver one is, and then people just kind of like use ADP to entrench that idea. So like two months ago, we saw Jalen Sutton was, or Jalen Waddle was going here in drafts, and Corden Sutton was going here in drafts, and then we've just kind of seen this gap, and it's just been widening and widening and widening. And now because there's this huge gap in ADP, everyone says that Jalen Sutton, or I keep saying Jalen Sutton, Jalen Waddle is undoubtedly the wide receiver one.
How likely is it, like if you had to put a percentage on it, how likely is it that Coraline Sutton outscores Jalen Waddle in Fantasy this year? Because I'd put it probably like 40 or 45 percent.

I was going to instinctually, I said 50 percent. I really do think it's a toss up. But the earlier reports back when we did our divisional preview show for the AFC West, when I was coming out of OTAs, the talk around the media there that follows the team was, well, Coraline Sutton is still the wide receiver one, as they work to integrate Jalen Waddle right now. So it's just an easy bet to make.
