Every year, somebody in your fantasy football league finds a receiver that is on nobody's radar, that ends up being a league winner, and this year, that guy could be you. Stick around, because today Bob Harris and I are going to talk about seven undervalued wide receivers that you need to be drafting in your fantasy football drafts. Bob, start us off. Who's a guy right now? And what we're going to do on this show is kind of work at the top and then work our way getting deeper and deeper down the draft board. But who's a guy right now that you think is just very undervalued in fantasy drafts?

**Bob Harris** (1:36)
We'll start out, like, I'll just note that every year, as soon as the season's over, I start making a list of players who fell short of expectations because why I'm going to get a deal on them. This year, in the fourth round, waiting for me as one lad, McConkey. Why is he available in the fourth round? Because it wasn't great last year, right? The expectations were there. He was terrific as a rookie, had 82 catches, 1,155 yards, seven touchdowns, wide receiver, 14 finish. We thought this was the start of something big. Instead, it was a big flop. Keenan Allen shows up. The offensive line gets brutalized. So it was a big struggle. His catch rate fell from 74 to 62 percent. His yards per target went from 10.4 to 7.4, and the numbers just weren't great. So what changed? Then when you make your list of guys where they let you down, you look for reasons to believe that a turnaround is possible. Well, that reason came early on with the arrival of Mike McDaniel.
First thing McDaniel talked about is reshaping how Justin Herbert plays quarterback, refine the footwork and the timing, bring more anticipation, unlock the best football of his career. I'm all for that, especially if it helps Vlad Mikalki. And it might. The creativity that we've seen with Mike McDaniel, maybe it didn't finish great as a head coach or his time in Miami didn't end great. But when you think about his early time there, he was very innovative on the offense. A lot of that came from the motion, right? The Dolphins motion on 67.5% of the staffs last year, chargers were on the league average 50%.
The thing about that motion is you get your speedy playmakers moving at full speed when the ball is snapped, great things can happen. So I think McConkie is a great route runner, you know, and this should help him free up in free space. Our buddy Matt Harmon has noted that he consistently ranks as one of the best separators in the NFL still. So there's that going for him. So he's being drafted like his wide receiver, 19, 41st pick overall. That fourth round price, I know we're going to talk about another fourth round.
There is a target rich environment in those early mid rounds, and I expect McDaniel to make him the focal point of the passing offense, and that unlocks all McConkie's talents and the wide receiver one upside he hinted at as a rookie.

**Dave Kluge** (3:51)
I think McConkie gets miscast just because people see him and they go, oh, this is some like shifty slot receiver, right? And no, this is a guy, like you said, Matt Walden talked about it. He can play all over the formation. He is more of an ex receiver than he is a slot receiver. And that's what we saw Tyree Hill playing in Miami. So you talk about like early on in McDaniel's career, he was very creative, whether it was in Atlanta, San Francisco, early part of Miami. I feel like he lost. Yeah, all the way back to Washington, right? And I feel like he lost out on that creativity, not because of him, but because of the limitations of Tua Tuguioloa. You know, Tua stopped hitting those intermediate throws. He lost the arm strength. He was scared to hold on to the ball. He lost all of his mobility. So it kind of felt like this McDaniel offense had a restrictor plate on it. And with Justin Herbert, there's no restrictor plate. You got a monstrous arm. You got the rushing ability. And you've got weapons all around. So I'm in on Lad McConkey, but I'm just kind of in on this Chargers offense as a whole.
