You're better in fantasy football than drafting a running back that smashes his ADP. A lot of your lead mates are just going to take the player that is sitting atop that ADP list. Bob Harris and I have done the work to identify the most undervalued running backs in fantasy drafts right now. Bob, start us off with a guy last year who is one of the best values that you could have had in drafts, and for whatever reason, is still a value going into 2026

Not as great a value, but Javontae Williams turned into, well, Javontae Williams, the guy we thought we were getting when the Denver Broncos drafted him a couple years back, but the knee injuries and all kinds of things falling out of favor with Sean Payton, that'll do that for you. Landing in Dallas apparently worked out really well. We didn't know going into last summer what that backfield was going to look like, right?
Miles Sanders was there. Turns out he did nothing. Jaden Blue, we were all like, oh wow, a rookie with a little bit of wiggle, that might work out well. Apparently, the Louis Vuitton shoes had other ideas.
So here we go. Javontae Williams comes off an 11 rushing touchdown. Personal best in rushing attempts in rushing yards, 11 touchdowns equaled his previous seasons, four seasons combined. So the role was great. He got a $24 million extension this year, maybe signed a little too early. According to guys like Travis Aitchin and Kendall Walker III, the Chiefs paid Walker $43 million for three years, Aitchin got $52 million for four. So it's a good deal, but Williams does not seem bothered by this. Sounds like he's perfectly happy. Brian Schottenheimer sees him as an absolute pounder, a bruiser, a guy that's going to score 12 touchdowns every year for us. Clayton Adams, who I think this guy's role cannot be underestimated here for our purposes. Former Cardinals offensive line coach comes over last year as offensive coordinator for Schottenheimer. He's in charge of the run game and getting that line in order, and he's done it.
He loves also Williams. We're going from a guy who feared his career might be over in Denver to his first thousand-year season, top 10 finish among running backs league-wide. He was running back 12 for fantasy investors, and again, the price was right. I like to cite a super sharp analyst that I work with. His name is Dave Kluge. For setting expectations for this year. I know you wrote about this a while back. Williams averaged 19 opportunities per game, double-digit touches in all 16 games, 62 red zone touches, fifth most among running backs, 51 targets ranked 11th, a little more than people expect. So, high value targets in the end zone, near the end zone and through the air, keep him right up and top for me. Locked in role, I expect another, like I think he has a reasonable outcome to get another running back one campaign tail end. But even at that, he's running back 17, late third round price tag. There's not a lot of true feature backs in that spot and he is there.
