Bobby Bones (0:07)

Welcome to Episode 570 This is more of a In The Headlines, In The News, BobbyCast, Country Music. And so Eddie and I have not shared our results with each other, but just like college football, we're gonna do a rankings.

Eddie (0:19)

Yeah. Okay.

Bobby Bones (0:21)

Today's January 16th. So as of January 16th, 2026, top 10 artists in country music.

Eddie (0:28)

Current artists in country music.

Bobby Bones (0:30)

And I was for sure to say you don't list Johnny Cash.

Eddie (0:34)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No all times.

Bobby Bones (0:36)

And also I'm not going to argue with you because there are no rules.

Eddie (0:40)

Man, it was tough to rank them.

Bobby Bones (0:43)

You can go first.

Eddie (0:44)

Okay. You want to start at 10?

Bobby Bones (0:46)

Yeah, go 10 to one. So at number 10 on your rankings.

Eddie (0:49)

I think 10 was probably the hardest because I was going to leave some people off. So 10, you're not going to like this, but I'm going with Chris Stapleton.

Bobby Bones (0:57)

Do you think we need to go the opposite? I'm thinking about if we should go the opposite way.

Eddie (1:02)

Yeah, because I think the last five are the hard ones.

Bobby Bones (1:05)

I agree, so I'm going to act like I didn't hear 10 is Chris Stapleton. I'm going to be surprised.

Eddie (1:08)

You know what? Scratch that. Scratch that.

Bobby Bones (1:10)

We're probably going to share a lot of the same artists. They're just going to be ranked different.

Eddie (1:12)

Yes.

Bobby Bones (1:13)

Okay. You can go for number one.

Eddie (1:14)

Number one, I had to think hard about this because I think because of his weight loss, he moved everything to number one is Jelly Roll. He's been in the news a lot. He's still making music. He's still playing shows. He's on the top. He's in the top of the world right now. And he's lost a lot of weight, which puts him on magazine covers.

Bobby Bones (1:37)

The men's health.

Eddie (1:39)

Men's health.

Bobby Bones (1:40)

They followed him for a year. That's a really cool thing. They keep rolling out social media on it. It's really cool. Okay. You have Jelly Roll at one.

Eddie (1:45)

Jelly Roll. Number two, Morgan Wallen, which I think without Jelly Roll doing all that stuff, I think Morgan Wallen would have been number one for sure. Okay. He's top.

Bobby Bones (1:54)

Number three.

Eddie (1:55)

Number three, Laney Wilson. Every time I go to the grocery store, you know whose face I see?

Bobby Bones (2:01)

Oh, you see.

Eddie (2:02)

Laney Wilson everywhere.

Bobby Bones (2:03)

I thought maybe it was hearing it over the top. That's more of the fray in the wall flowers.

Eddie (2:08)

What do you mean? To hear it in the grocery store. Oh, yeah.

Bobby Bones (2:10)

But you see Laney's face on what kind of products?

Eddie (2:12)

All kinds of products. Dude, wine, hamburger buns, anything. Like Laney, there's a cutout board of Laney Wilson staying in there trying to sell me something.

Bobby Bones (2:22)

Okay.

Eddie (2:22)

At number four, Megan Maroney. Killing it. Killing it. I think the kids love her. The girls love her. I think she's doing really big things right now.

Bobby Bones (2:33)

Five.

Eddie (2:35)

Man, Luke Combs. Luke Combs from the other class, you know, from like the little older class of country artists, still keeping up. Cause I mean, he what? Sells out stadiums still.

Bobby Bones (2:45)

Okay. Six.

Eddie (2:48)

As much as I hate to admit it, Zach Bryan. Zach Bryan's at number six. People know him. People love his music. He's in the news all the time, getting married, fighting, all of it.

Bobby Bones (3:00)

Seven.

Eddie (3:02)

Ella Langley.

I don't know why. Ella Langley.

Bobby Bones (3:09)

So you think. Okay.

Eddie (3:10)

Eight. Number eight. Because of Ella Langley, Riley Greene.

Bobby Bones (3:14)

Because of Ella Langley?

Eddie (3:15)

I think once they did their duo together, they both kind of just got to the same level.

Bobby Bones (3:20)

Okay.

Eddie (3:20)

Yeah.

Bobby Bones (3:21)

It definitely did help both of them.

Eddie (3:23)

That's what I feel.

Bobby Bones (3:23)

Yeah. Okay.

Eddie (3:24)

And then number nine, Cody Johnson.

Bobby Bones (3:29)

Good one.

Eddie (3:30)

Doing big things, collabing.

Bobby Bones (3:32)

Yeah. I like those generic terms.

Eddie (3:33)

Collabing with people.

Bobby Bones (3:34)

Big things to collabs. And ten?

Eddie (3:36)

Oh, this is tough, man.

Bobby Bones (3:37)

I don't know who to... I can't even guess.
