Karen Kilgariff (0:16)

And welcome.

Georgia Hardstark (0:17)

To My Favorite Murder.

Karen Kilgariff (0:18)

That's Georgia Hardstark.

Georgia Hardstark (0:20)

That's Karen Kilgariff.

Karen Kilgariff (0:21)

And we're full of beans today. If you don't mind.

Georgia Hardstark (0:25)

Oh, I forgot to. I have these like caffeine pouches that you suck on that I forgot to take. That's why I'm so fucking tired.

Karen Kilgariff (0:33)

Let's get you off those pouches.

Georgia Hardstark (0:35)

I think I need to get on them because I forgot to take it.

Karen Kilgariff (0:37)

Just drink that as fast as you can. Georgia's going to chug. Chug.

Georgia Hardstark (0:42)

Oh, my God.

Karen Kilgariff (0:43)

Remember back in the days? Chug it.

Georgia Hardstark (0:45)

Full of beans. That's full of shit, right?

That's what that means.

Karen Kilgariff (0:49)

For the children.

Georgia Hardstark (0:49)

Right.

Karen Kilgariff (0:50)

If you're going to yell at children with a smile on your face, you don't get to say shit. Did you know I have seven children?

Is that crazy? I never talk about them. Yeah.

Georgia Hardstark (0:59)

What are their names? Name them all.

Karen Kilgariff (1:01)

Danny. That's a boy. And then there's a Danny girl. Because we were so drunk when they were born. Twins.

And of course, Maurice. Don't ever forget Maurice. You can't.

Georgia Hardstark (1:14)

He rages if you don't.

Karen Kilgariff (1:16)

George Frank Blossom, Mimi, Elvis, Moe. Kevin.

Georgia Hardstark (1:24)

Kevin.

Sorry, Pete Kevin. Okay. This is a podcast.

Karen Kilgariff (1:31)

Listen, we're on people's televisions right now in some homes.

Georgia Hardstark (1:36)

We're on the main stage.

Karen Kilgariff (1:38)

Hello.

Can we turn out a little more? Let's let people see your sweater. Let's clear that mic.

Georgia Hardstark (1:44)

Amazing.

It's a child's vintage sweater. It's too tight and it's uncomfortable, but I just needed to wear it.

Karen Kilgariff (1:52)

It's so good.

Georgia Hardstark (1:53)

It's tight. It's real tight. But it's pretty like it reminds me of the island story that I did that one time.

Karen Kilgariff (2:00)

The island of the blue dolphins?

Georgia Hardstark (2:02)

No, no. The one.

Karen Kilgariff (2:04)

Oh, I curse you with my dying breath.

Georgia Hardstark (2:06)

Yes.

Karen Kilgariff (2:08)

That's got a good name. It's not Guantanamo.

Georgia Hardstark (2:12)

The Guadalajara. No, the Galapagos.

Karen Kilgariff (2:16)

The Galapagos affair. That's what I said. I said it first.

Georgia Hardstark (2:19)

Thank you.

Karen Kilgariff (2:19)

Have you worn that before? I feel like I've never seen it.

Georgia Hardstark (2:22)

No.

Karen Kilgariff (2:22)

It's really good.

Georgia Hardstark (2:23)

I've been saving it and it actually ties into my story. That's why I'm.

Karen Kilgariff (2:26)

If I had the longest arm ever, I could reach in and see what the label is.

Georgia Hardstark (2:30)

It's gone, but it's definitely a child's. Yes.

Karen Kilgariff (2:33)

You're very small. That's funny.

Georgia Hardstark (2:37)

I'm busting out of this thing. It shouldn't be on me at all.

Karen Kilgariff (2:42)

There's actually a lace up back that you're trying to close.

Georgia Hardstark (2:46)

Did you see there's a woman in Ohio, let's say, who found that's somewhere.

Karen Kilgariff (2:53)

Could be Vermont.

Georgia Hardstark (2:55)

Her grandfather had a department store in the 50s through the 90s, and she inherited the warehouses full of the back stock that never went out.

Karen Kilgariff (3:03)

From the 50s to the 90s?

Georgia Hardstark (3:05)

Yes. She's posting it all for sale. I bought a couple of things. What? It's everything from the alarm clock that your mom had in its original box, to tapestries, tons of garter belts, and undies, and bullet bras, and just the craziest shit. It's called Opa's something. Can you look that up for me? Opa's treasure.

Karen Kilgariff (3:28)

Opa.

Georgia Hardstark (3:28)

Like your Opa.

Karen Kilgariff (3:29)

Yeah, yeah. A Greek grandfather.

Georgia Hardstark (3:31)

Yeah.

Karen Kilgariff (3:32)

That first of all made my mouth start watering just as you were like a woman's grandfather. And then I was like, this is gonna be good.

Georgia Hardstark (3:38)

Something's good.

Karen Kilgariff (3:39)

But that idea, there's a portal opening there with people going to be being able to suddenly go back and have in their hands the thing they've missed and wanted.

Georgia Hardstark (3:50)

And of course, for all us fucking weirdos, the original box. This is the most important part of vintage shopping.

Karen Kilgariff (3:57)

The true time travel of the way it used to be in the box.

Georgia Hardstark (4:00)

Original box, original manual. There's roller skates.

It's crazy.
