One of the biggest themes that we saw in the preseason, the teams were talking about in the off season, that's going to translate, in my opinion, into week one, that everybody should be paying attention to because it's going to impact efficiencies or comfort level of quarterbacks, which is the number one biggest deciding factor in terms of wins and losses aside from take aways and turnovers is quarterback performance and passing performance. That is quarterbacks are going under center a little bit more in 2026 It's a copycat league, a lot of teams saw Sean McVay go heavier personnel and go under center more with Matthew Stafford, and they are looking to do similar this year. This preseason, I'll list out the top 10 teams on early downs that pivoted the most to going under center. The Miami Dolphins were number one, the Commanders number two, the Falcons number three, the Cardinals number four, the Eagles number five, the Raiders number six, Giants number seven, Chargers number eight, Ravens number nine, and Houston Texans number ten. And in some cases it was dramatic. Now will we see the same level of results? I mean, for example, the Washington Commanders had been 85% shotgun on early downs in 2025 They went only 46.5% shotgun in 2026 preseason. That's a decline of 38.5%.
