There is so much NFL on ESPN right now.
Monday Night Football, plus pregame and postgame. NFL Live, NFL Primetime. Everything you need to stay on top of every game, every week.

**Shawn Ryan** (0:14)
Unbelievable.

**Clint Emerson** (0:16)
And now, NFL Network is on the ESPN app. More football, more coverage, more ways to watch. Football's on, all season long, on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN app.

This podcast is brought to you by Verst.

**SPEAKER_3** (0:32)
Guys wear that guys wear. This fantasy football draft season, Verst Limitless Pants should be at the top of every guy's watch list because while some guys are sweating whether to risk it all in an up and coming rookie, fall back on a trusted vet or to just ride with whatever the auto draft tosses at them, gearing up with the Limitless Collection's versatility, comfort and style is always a sure thing.

**Shawn Ryan** (0:53)
Verst.

**SPEAKER_3** (0:54)
Guys wear that guys wear. Only at Dix.
Clint Emerson.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:06)
How are you doing?

**SPEAKER_3** (1:07)
Welcome to the show, man.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:08)
Thanks for having me. It's cool to be here.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:10)
Thanks for coming.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:11)
You got an awesome studio.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:12)
Well, I appreciate that.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:14)
It is beautiful inside out. I mean, do people get to see the whole thing? Have you ever shown all of it or?

**SPEAKER_3** (1:21)
On camera?

**Shawn Ryan** (1:22)
Yeah.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:22)
No, we haven't shown all of it. Oh, man, that's nice. You got some secrets in here.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:26)
Yeah.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:28)
But I think they get the gist of it.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:30)
It's got a spa vibe.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:31)
Thank you.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:33)
You're a man who loves massages.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:35)
Oh, man.
Well, yeah. Man, I can't believe it's taking this long to get you on here.

**Shawn Ryan** (1:42)
Yeah. Well, life.
But it is good to be here. I was just telling your guys that you're like Oprah, Ryan. There's so many tears have fallen on this leather chair. I'm like, man, I hope I don't cry while I'm here with you.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:56)
Hey, same chair since Episode 1

**Shawn Ryan** (1:59)
Is it? Yeah.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:00)
Oh, nice.

**Shawn Ryan** (2:00)
Yeah. History.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:01)
Same exact positions too.

**Shawn Ryan** (2:03)
You make sure I smell this chair before I leave.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:08)
But yeah, I'm excited about this. Yeah, I'm really excited.

**Shawn Ryan** (2:11)
Yeah, it should be fun.

**SPEAKER_3** (2:12)
Well, let me give you an introduction here. We're going to get more into that towards the end of the interview, but I thought that was a great opener. Clint Emerson, you're a retired Navy SEAL who spent more than two decades in Naval Special Warfare, including time with SEAL Team 6 During your career, you specialized in intelligence collection, surveillance, and high-risk operations in hostile areas, including missions involving Somali pirates, al-Qaeda leaders, and other covert targets.
You're also the best-selling author of 100 Deadly Skills, where you break down the surveillance, survival, and tradecraft techniques you learned in special operations for a civilian audience, awarded the Scott Fitzgerald Award for Excellence in Writing. Since retiring, you've worked in crisis management and security consulting, helping people and organizations prepare for threats like targeted violence, kidnapping, and other high-risk situations. You are the only special operator included into the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC. Welcome to the show. Yeah.

**Shawn Ryan** (3:22)
Thanks, buddy.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:23)
So, typically, in these things, we start at childhood, which we're going to do a little bit today. But we're only going to touch on a small portion of your childhood at the beginning because this is all going to tie back down, back to childhood at the end. So, it's going to be kind of the first time we've done something like this. But everybody's going to start off getting the gift.
Oh, of course.

**Shawn Ryan** (3:52)
You know, I think I tried these, but they came out of somebody else's Vigilance Elite gummy bear bag, and they were spectacular. So, I will definitely be gobbling these down. I would love to counter you with a gift if this is a good opportunity.

**SPEAKER_3** (4:09)
Sure. We can do that, or we can do it later on, whenever you want.

**Shawn Ryan** (4:14)
I'm game. I don't know what works best for this whole, like, I got to get up and get it and give it to you kind of thing.

**SPEAKER_3** (4:18)
Let's wait till it's appropriate. Okay.

**Shawn Ryan** (4:22)
Perfect.

**SPEAKER_3** (4:22)
Probably the second segment, but I can't wait. I love gifts. Yeah.
