Hey everyone, my name is Siim Land.

And today we're going to be going through a Q&A we had on our Instagram that we did together, so we'll just answer different kinds of questions. This episode is brought to you by Bon Charge, formerly known as BluBlox. My favorite light and sleep conversation company, BluBlox, has rebranded themselves as Bon Charge. They're now involved with a huge range of evidence-based products to improve your wellness and life in every way. Their extensive range of premium wellness products helps you to sleep better, perform better, have more energy, recover faster, balance your hormones and reduce inflammation. My favorites are their red light light bulbs, because they can be used to create a melatonin-friendly environment in your bedroom by shining only red and not blue or green light waves that will reduce your sleep quality. After starting to use these red light light bulbs, I find it much easier to fall asleep and feel less awake before bed. If you want to try out these amazing products that are the cornerstones to my most optimal sleep, then head over to bondcharge.com for the last Siim Land and use the code Siim15 to save 15%.

Alright, so first question is going to be supplements to minimize the side effects of alcohol on nerves.

So, yeah, do you have anything that comes to mind immediately?

Inka Land (1:18)

Minimize side effects on alcohol on nerves?

Well, basically to lower the neural inflammation would be just an anti-inflammatory diet, omega-3 fatty acids for sure to lower. If there is some over-excitation of the nervous system, then magnesium would be very good. And maybe then after the alcohol, immediately just to try to detox the acetaldehyde, we would put the tie-on, extra glutathione and vitamin C.

Siim Land (1:46)

Yeah, and let's say alcohol does have a negative effect in almost any amount, has a neurotoxic effect and inflammatory effect on the body.

But yeah, you can like minimize it with what you do before drinking and afterwards as well. So before drinking the alcohol, you want to boost your detox pathways and glutathione levels.

Inka Land (2:12)

With N-acetyl-chustane, for example. NAC, vitamin C, and vitamin B as well would be very good.

And yeah, in between drinks to boost the elimination of the alcohol, vitamin C. And then after glutathione and if it goes into a state of hangover, then during hangover, anti-inflammatory things, omega-3s, vitamin Bs, magnesium.

Siim Land (2:44)

Yeah, and like pro-amino acids before drinking and afterwards, or even during, you can have these gileters as well, activated charcoal and I don't know, spirulina and those things. Yeah, totally. Oh, and water.

Yes.

Inka Land (3:01)

It would be super important.

Siim Land (3:05)

Next question, thoughts on hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I think both have tried it only like a few times, once or twice.

Inka Land (3:14)

I've tried it once because there's no available here, pretty much.

Siim Land (3:19)

What do you think about it?

Inka Land (3:21)

Well, I mean, I only had the experience in once. I haven't really looked into it that much, to be honest, so I can't really say much about it.

Siim Land (3:28)

Yeah, well, the research does suggest that it has similar anti-inflammatory properties and helps with even potentially also like with nerve regeneration to a certain extent.

One interesting study that came out, I don't know, like last year or something was that it helped to regrow telomeres, it was then considered to be like very like, wow, amazing anti-aging activity or something. But I think it's quite limited, those findings. So yeah, I think it may be beneficial for some people, especially people who with like low oxygenation status and those things, different kinds of like even diabetes, where your tissues are under oxygenated, specific tissues like the limbs, maybe there it can be very beneficial and like, but I mean, like, yeah, like it's hard to find and the units cost also quite a lot, like 15,000 at minimum up to like 50,000. So yeah, I mean, yeah, if you can find it, it can definitely be like useful, I would imagine, but I don't think that is, at least it's not like, you know, in the priorities for most people.

Inka Land (4:39)

Yeah, we can do a little PubMed thing.

Siim Land (4:43)

General overview of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy applications, mechanisms and translational opportunities. Okay, so HBOT is an effective method to increase blood and tissue oxygen levels independently from hemoglobin, I would imagine it's hemoglobin, no, transportation. Its therapeutic basis could be understood from three different perspectives, physical, physiological and cellular molecular.
