Joe Rogan (2:43)
What's up, Dan? Good to meet you, man.
Dan McClellan (2:45)
Good to meet you too. Thank you so much for having me out.
Joe Rogan (2:46)
It's always weird when you watch a bunch of a guy's content and then you meet him. It's very odd.
Dan McClellan (2:53)
There's a parasocial relationship thing there that's a little off putting it first.
I remember, I had a long time ago, I got a notification I was being followed on Instagram by Joel McHale. And I was like, sweet, I texted my family. And then a couple of weeks later, I got a message from him. He was like, hey man, big fan, loves your stuff. We got to hang out sometime. And I was like, all right, cool.
Joe Rogan (3:15)
He's a really nice guy.
Dan McClellan (3:17)
He's incredible. He's a wonderful guy. Got a lovely family. And he was coming out to Salt Lake City to do FanX a couple of years ago, which is our version of Comic-Con. And I was like, hey, let's do dinner.
Joe Rogan (3:28)
And yeah, you're a giant comic freak.
Dan McClellan (3:30)
I am. Yeah. And he was like, let's do dinner. He's like, it's a date. But I'm a what did he call himself? An arrogant foodie. So he was like, so I got to pick the restaurant. But he's like, let's let's get on the phone and chat for a minute. And I called him. He picked up the phone. He's like, Dan McClellan, Joel McHale. He's like, this is so weird talking to you. I was like, Joel, I promise you, it's a lot weirder for me.
So I know exactly what that's like.
Joe Rogan (3:55)
But it's very odd. I try to give people as much grace as possible when they meet me because I've probably been in their head more than headphones and shit for thousands of... It's odd. It's odd for me. So I'm sure it's odd for other people, too.
Dan McClellan (4:08)
And I'm kind of like, I don't even recall if I'm proud of everything I've ever said. So I don't know what kind of impression somebody has of me.
