**Joe Rogan** (0:14)
Hey, what's up, Joe?

**Brian Simpson** (0:15)
What's up, Brian?

**Joe Rogan** (0:18)
Here to promote the new special?

**Brian Simpson** (0:19)
That's right.

**Joe Rogan** (0:20)
Or the old special.

**Brian Simpson** (0:21)
The old special that is now available on YouTube.

**Joe Rogan** (0:23)
Now available on YouTube, Live from the Mothership, my favorite girl, at the Mothership.

**Brian Simpson** (0:27)
That has one of my all-time favorite bits in it.

**Joe Rogan** (0:29)
What bit is it?

**Brian Simpson** (0:29)
Whop.

**Joe Rogan** (0:30)
Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's a...

**Brian Simpson** (0:34)
That's one of my all-time favorite bits, because it's such a great arc. It's got a lot of detail to it, and then it comes back around.

**Joe Rogan** (0:44)
Oh, yeah. I probably never write anything better than that. Oh, it's a great bit.

**Brian Simpson** (0:47)
You will. You will. But it is an inspired piece of material.

**Joe Rogan** (0:51)
You know how sometimes you're haunted by a bit, where you're like...

**Brian Simpson** (0:53)
Oh, yeah.

**Joe Rogan** (0:54)
and every now and then somebody walks up to you and goes, you know my favorite Joe Rogan is?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But it's cool. It's cool. I'm excited, man. We're already at like 300,000 views. I'm trying to get a million. Nice. Let me get a million. Help me.

**Brian Simpson** (1:06)
Well, after this, it will boost up for sure. And it was really good. It's a great special, man. It's hard. It's hard to... A special never feels like it feels in the room because you're not in the audience. You're at home. So it's always like... Even a great special is like 60 to 70 percent of what it feels like to be there.
When you're there, it's always better. But then it's hard to be relaxed because you know that there's fucking cameras on you and you got to nail this.

**Joe Rogan** (1:29)
You know the analogy I use is like, it's the difference between watching porno and then watching those same two people have sex right in front of you. You know, it's the exact same thing as happening.

**Brian Simpson** (1:42)
Right, right, right. It's way crazier. People are fucking right in front of you.

**Joe Rogan** (1:46)
Yeah, that's a whole different... It's a whole different vibe.

**Jamie** (1:48)
Right, right.

**Brian Simpson** (1:50)
Yeah.
It's hard to get them down, you know. There's a lot of great comics that don't have a great special. And it's just, it's hard. It's hard to nail it.

**Joe Rogan** (1:59)
I mean, it's hard to nail it. It's hard to know when to make it happen. It's hard to be in the right mind.

**Brian Simpson** (2:06)
Yep, yep, all those things.

**Joe Rogan** (2:08)
But once you knock one out.

**Brian Simpson** (2:10)
Yeah, once you knock one out, once you get a really good one. If you're doing... I always like to film four, if possible. And then once you have one in the can, then you're free.
Once you have one that's done, you're like, all right, this is all a regular show now. Now I can be free.

**Joe Rogan** (2:24)
Well, that's the advice you gave me before. I'm glad I did that, too. But it was funny is, the first one was the one we used.

**Brian Simpson** (2:31)
Because you're inspired, but also there's less pressure.

**Joe Rogan** (2:33)
Yeah, you know you have more chances.

**Brian Simpson** (2:35)
Yes, so you're free. You're free, you're inspired. It's just when you have to do one. Like there's a lot of great specials, like Bill Hicks Relentless, the one he did in London. God, it feels like he's tense.
It doesn't feel like loose, like relaxed. It feels like he's very aware he's being filmed.

**Joe Rogan** (2:54)
You think he only shot the one?

**Brian Simpson** (2:55)
I think so. Yeah, because it was a huge theater.
You know, and back then, that's what they used to do. Back then, people would shoot one special. They would film one show, you know?

**Joe Rogan** (3:06)
That feels, that's...

**Brian Simpson** (3:07)
Crazy. I remember when I first started doing Two Days, people were like, God, that's gonna cost you so much more. I'm like, better that.
Better that, have peace of mind. Oh yeah. But then what did I do? I went and did a live one.

**Joe Rogan** (3:18)
So that I would never do. That scares the shit out of me.

**Brian Simpson** (3:21)
Scares the shit out of me too. That's why I did it. I wanted to see what it's like. If I could do it. I felt like a regular show.
