We're up, what's up?

**Joe Rogan** (0:13)
Good to see you, brother.

**Travis Barker** (0:14)
What's cracking? Good to be seeing you, man. Stoked to be here.

**Joe Rogan** (0:17)
Stoked to have you, man. What a fucking cute kid you have, dude.

**Travis Barker** (0:20)
Thank you, thank you. He's the best, man.

**Joe Rogan** (0:23)
So blessed.

**Travis Barker** (0:23)
He loves you.

**Joe Rogan** (0:24)
When you're trying to put him down, he's like, no.

**Travis Barker** (0:27)
I think it's because I just spent, we just went to Utah and I had three or five days with him, just like a lot of time with him, and he has separation anxiety from me, as I do with him. I'm like, it's the best, man.

**Joe Rogan** (0:40)
And people that don't have kids, it's like you don't understand the level of love that you have for them.

**Travis Barker** (0:46)
Yeah.

**Joe Rogan** (0:46)
It's really crazy.

**Travis Barker** (0:47)
Or people who have kids and don't hang out with their kids like that. I just, I don't get it.

**Joe Rogan** (0:52)
I don't get it either.

**Travis Barker** (0:53)
I'll spend every second I can with my kids.

**Joe Rogan** (0:56)
Yeah, it's weird. It's weird that people, maybe it's something that happened to them when they were young or something. I don't know.

**Travis Barker** (1:01)
Yeah.

**Joe Rogan** (1:03)
So what's cracking? What's the latest?

**Travis Barker** (1:06)
I mean, my doc came out today.

**Joe Rogan** (1:08)
Today?

**Travis Barker** (1:09)
So yeah. Long time coming.

**Joe Rogan** (1:13)
What was that experience like?

**Travis Barker** (1:17)
Well, the beginning of it was shortly after my book came out. So I kind of understood why people wanted a doc from me at that point. And I was honored and I was flattered. And I was going down the journey of filming this doc, but it didn't really have an ending.
I guess the light at the end of the tunnel during that time around 2017 was that I was sober and I survived a plane crash. But really, I was struggling with ever flying again, struggling with survivors' guilt, struggling with a lot of stuff. And at the time, the directors had mentioned to me, like, can you just look at a plane or act like you're going to go fly in a plane or walk towards a plane? I was like, fuck no, I would never, I can't even consider it. I can't even do it for you for, for, like, fantasy purposes, for the end of this doc, you know?
And I think that set in after a while, where I had to acknowledge and just understand I was, I was afraid to ever fly again. And this thing had huge power over me, to the point where it, you know, it dictated how I got on tour, how many days I'd travel on bus to New York, how many days I'd be on the Queen Mary 2, going to England.

**Joe Rogan** (2:46)
How long would that take?

**Travis Barker** (2:47)
Oh, dude, so long.

**Joe Rogan** (2:48)
The England one's crazy.

**Travis Barker** (2:50)
Comfortably on the bus from here to New York, probably six or seven days, if you want to stop at hotels. And, you know, I toured with my kids, you know, their whole life. So stopping and doing some cool stuff for them, six, seven days, and then a 10-day boat ride from New York to the Hamptons.
It's crazy. Yeah. So, yeah, my band would leave, they'd be in England in 10 hours, whatever. It would take me three weeks. Sucked. And then sometimes I'd be on the Queen Mary, too, and we'd have wild weather, 30-foot waves, 170-mile-per-hour winds. And I was like, is this any better than being on a plane?

**Joe Rogan** (3:33)
But the ocean freaks me out.

**Travis Barker** (3:36)
Yeah, it started to.

**Joe Rogan** (3:36)
The big waves in particular, they freak me out.

**Travis Barker** (3:39)
Yeah, we got into a couple of storms on one of the Transatlantic Crossings that, yeah, believe me, like something was festering inside where I had this urge to try to figure out what had this power over me, which was flying. And, yeah.

**Joe Rogan** (3:57)
Well, it's totally understandable.

**Travis Barker** (3:59)
Yeah, I think about it every day after a certain point. And then, plus my kids, you know, they grew up not flying. They grew up associating a plane to a metal container where people die, I think, you know, unfortunately, because that's what happened, you know, to my two best friends and the two pilots who were on my plane.
