I mean, it's all time. I mean, you're a part of one of, like, easily one of the greatest movies in the history of people.

I know, it's such a gift. I mean, when people come up and say something about it, it usually is coming from a pretty deep place, you know?

Yeah. If you didn't like that movie, there's something, you should go to a doctor.
You need medication, there's something wrong with you. That's an amazing movie. And weird that it's a Stephen King movie, too, you know? That guy is arguably one of the most prolific guys in the history of fiction.

Yeah. And in the same novella, there was Stand By Me, too.

That's amazing. So weird. He writes stuff very so much. He had to do like a pseudonym at one point in time. Remember? He did Richard Bachman. Yeah. Because he was churning out so many books. They're like, hey, we can't keep selling these fucking Stephen King books. And he's like, well, how would I come up with another name? Like, give me a fake name. And he just started killing it. I just got to keep writing it, got to get it, got to get it. Yeah, wild, wild guy. Yeah, just a very unusual human. They exist.

He's out there, man. During his early days, I'm fascinated by his early days. Because his early days, he was off the rails with cocaine and alcohol and some of the best shit that he made. He doesn't even remember writing it.

I think Kujo, I think is one of the books his wife took out of the garbage because he threw it away. He's like, fuck this book. Kujo sucks. It was Kujo or one of the classics.

Yeah. Shining was a big movie for me. I was working in a nine to five job in between colleges, and it really woke me up to all kinds of great possibilities in writing.

Well, he hated the movie, which is so crazy because he felt like Jack Nicholson got insane too quickly.

Yeah. Because in the book, I read the book too. It's very different, similar, but it's more of a drawn out process of him becoming possessed by the property.

Yeah. Jack Nicholson was kooky already, right away, which it's Jack Nicholson.
It's also Stanley Kubrick. It's like he's got to do his interpretation of it. He's just got to accept that.

Fuck man. His books are insane. Yeah. It's like what is going on inside that guy's mind, or was going on inside that guy's mind when he was writing them.

I think once he got clean, he kind of changed and straightened out and different human now. But boy, I'm fascinated by the Off the Rails days because the books were so nuts.

Was Shawshank during that time?

I don't know. It must have been.
It must have been because I don't think he got sober until it was decades after his career began and some of the great stuff like I think all the stand, I think all that stuff he was out of his mind when he was writing all those.
