Yesterday, the Bitcoin Clarity Act failed its biggest Senate vote. Less than 24 hours later, another major Bitcoin battle's already unfolding in Congress. And this time, America's Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is on the table. What they're discussing right now could shape what the US does with its Bitcoin for the next 20 years. This is getting serious. The US government is about to make one of the biggest Bitcoin moves in American history. Congress has now taken up legislation that could move America from simply holding Bitcoin to figuring out how to strategically acquire more. And the bigger target already hanging over America's Bitcoin Reserve strategy?
One million Bitcoin. At today's prices, it would mean tens of billions of dollars in Bitcoin taken off the market. And at the same time, roughly $25 billion in government-held Bitcoin could be locked away for at least 20 years. No selling, no dumping, but that's only half the story. Right now, the House of Financial Services Committee is taking up HR. 8957, the American Reserve Modernization Act. And this legislation could take something already launched through executive action and bring it directly into Congress. A study into budget-neutral strategies for acquiring additional Bitcoin for the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Treasury and Commerce would be directed to examine the risks, costs, and potential benefits of acquiring additional Bitcoin over the next five years while determining whether those acquisitions can happen without increasing the national debt. That distinction matters because America already has a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. President Trump established it by executive order back in March of 2025, capitalizing the reserve with Bitcoin forfeited to the federal government. But an executive order is not the same thing as Congress putting a long-term framework into law. And HR H957 goes much further. Bitcoin placed into the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve would face a minimum 20-year holding period. 20 years. That is potentially two decades of government held Bitcoin being taken off the market, not traded, not dumped because some politician wants a quick source of revenue held as a Strategic Reserve asset. And if America eventually moves from simply holding forfeited Bitcoin to acquiring additional Bitcoin, now the game completely changes. Because the United States would no longer just be an accidental owner of Bitcoin C's through enforcement actions. It would have a framework for examining how to become a Strategic Accumulator. And this is unfolding immediately after the Clarity Act failed its biggest Senate tests. Yesterday, the Senate could not find 60 votes necessary to advance Clarity. Today, Congress is already moving on another major piece of Bitcoin policy. And while politicians fight over regulation, the rest of the financial system isn't waiting. Charles Schwab says the failure of Clarity won't derail adoption. Saylor says the banks will expand Bitcoin custody and loans against it, while more capital flows towards Bitcoin. The message is becoming impossible to ignore. Bitcoin adoption does not stop because one bill stalls. Wall Street keeps building. Banks keep entering. Governments keep developing Bitcoin policy. And America is now debating how to protect its Bitcoin for generations while studying how to acquire more. This is how the conversation changes. First governments confiscated Bitcoin, then they sold it. Then America created the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Now Congress is considering locking Reserve Bitcoin away for 20 years and studying budget-neutral acquisition of additional Bitcoin. The direction is unmistakable because once the largest government on earth starts treating Bitcoin as something strategically valuable enough to hold for decades, the question eventually stops being, should America sell its Bitcoin? And becomes, how much Bitcoin should America own? And there will never be enough Bitcoin for every government, corporation, institution and investor that reaches that conclusion at the same time. The race for absolute scarcity is getting freaking real. However, I do have some breaking updates. The US. House Financial Services Committee just postponed the vote on the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill.
This will go down as a historic mistake. So we did not get the final committee vote today that we were waiting for. But importantly, the bill was introduced and discussed in today's markup. In fact, here's a clip. Let me show you exactly what Chairman French Hill had to say about the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Check it out.

This bill establishes a strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a separate digital asset stockpile within the Department of Treasury for federally held Bitcoin and other digital assets that the government has acquired through justice and law enforcement efforts of criminal or civil forfeiture. This is a common sense measure that brings digital assets held across a variety of federal agencies under the careful custody of the US. Treasury consistent with oversight, strengthening of the security, transparency and accountability of these now government held assets.
