Bitcoin just took a major regulatory hit in America. But if anyone thinks this changes where Bitcoin is going, they haven't been paying attention. Politicians can block legislation. They cannot block Bitcoin. What happens from here is bigger than one Senate vote. Breaking news just in, the Clarity Act just failed its biggest Senate test yet. And the fight over Bitcoin's regulatory future in America just hit a wall.

After months of fighting, lobbying, political warfare and last-minute negotiations, the Senate failed to deliver the 60 votes needed to advance the Clarity Act. The final vote, 49 in favor, 50 against. This is a major setback. But make no mistake, the fight is not over. And Bitcoin sure as hell didn't fail. The Clarity vote did. Think about what happened heading into this vote. President Trump agreed to key ethic restrictions lawmakers had demanded. Senate Republicans released their final offer incorporating 126 substantive changes requested by the Democrats. Banks fought provisions they feared could threaten deposits. Elizabeth Warren urged the Dems to reject the latest deal. Republicans rejected another Democratic counteroffer. And hours before the vote, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong went on television predicting more than 60 senators would ultimately support moving Clarity forward. He was wrong. They didn't have the votes. And now one of the biggest attempts to establish a comprehensive digital asset market structure in America has stalled at a critical Senate hurdle. But here's what matters for Bitcoin. Bitcoin never needed the Clarity Act. Bitcoin has operated for over 17 years without asking Congress for permission. Blocks kept coming, Bitcoin kept working, and its absolute scarcity never gave a damn who controlled the Senate. That doesn't mean today's failure doesn't matter. It does. The trillions of dollars operating inside the legacy financial system care about regulatory clarity. The banks care, Wall Street cares, institutions care, pension funds care, corporate bonds care. And today, one potential path towards removing that regulatory uncertainty just got blocked. But let's zoom out. BlackRock is still here, Wall Street is still here, public companies are still accumulating Bitcoin, America still has a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, and tomorrow Congress takes the next step towards putting that Bitcoin Reserve into law, with the House Financial Services Committee scheduled to hold its markup. Think about that. Clarity hits a wall today. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve legislation moves forward tomorrow. And sovereign Bitcoin accumulation is becoming part of the geopolitical conversation. Bitcoin's monetary policy didn't change because senators couldn't reach 60 votes. The supply didn't increase, the network didn't stop, and the institutions, corporations, and nation-states competing for Bitcoin didn't suddenly disappear. The regulatory fight simply continues because eventually America has to decide how the largest financial market on earth is going to operate in the digital asset era. Bitcoin isn't waiting for that decision. And when clearer rules finally arrive, those trillions of dollars won't be competing against Bitcoin. They'll be competing against each other for Bitcoin. For an asset, nobody can print, nobody can inflate, and nobody can create more of just because demand explodes. That's the part no Senate vote can change. The supply doesn't change when Wall Street wants more. It doesn't change when corporations want more. And it sure as hell doesn't change when sovereigns want more. Today was a setback for clarity, not Bitcoin. The 60-vote wall held. Now the fight over clarity moves to what comes next. Bitcoin will keep producing blocks either way. And the race for absolute scarcity keeps moving. So does clarity come back and ultimately become law? Yay or nay? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Breaking news, 275 million in crypto longs were liquidated in just 20 minutes after the Crypto Clarity Act failed to pass the Senate vote. It was around 3 p.m. Eastern when the final vote was in. They started the vote count. It began at 2.15. Let me know if you were watching it. Bitcoin crashed 2220 minutes to roughly 74.9 and Ethereum fell below 2400 Nearly 70 billion erased from the crypto market. But hey, we've seen worse. What's a couple of percent correction in the grand scheme of things? Not really too severe. 70 billion erased from the market. But it is what it is. We could have had a reversal, jumped right back above 80 Gs, potential god candle, but very unfortunate. It didn't go our way here today. Here's a clip taken of a Bitcoin maxi as soon as the Clarity Act did not pass today.

Now, that's a classic court clip. I don't know if you've ever seen that one before, but that's how every Bitcoin maxi feels right now. And not just Bitcoin maxis, but everyone in crypto, unfortunately. Michael Saylor updated us, the only clarity you need is Bitcoin. And I do agree. Let me know if you agree with Michael the Sailor Man. Toot toot. Just a great reminder, Bitcoin never needed the Clarity Act. We've been doing just fine for 17 plus years. It's the United States of America that needs the Clarity Act, so we don't get left behind in other countries. Trump us. No pun intended.
